I am sorry to hear that your dvd player is not working as they are not cheap. I would recommend Sony as far as a DVD player. Sony is a very reliable company and they make very good products. That would be my first choice. Panasonic would be another good choice in my opinion. I am not familiar with any of the other brand names. I use my Sony Playstation 2 for watching my dvd movies.

I own a Sony DVD player and it works fine. I bought it 2 years ago for about $70. I have had good luck with Sony products over the years.

They are all good and very simple to operate.
They do not last for ever.
You might need to replace yours.
They are not too dear, so they are not worth fixing.
I watch all my DVDS on my computer.

I prefer sony, Panasonic, toshiba. I personaly have a sony and it works fine. I never had a problem. It is 3 yrs old but I havent had any problem yet.

Well, i've had JVC and Sony, and they were both good, but the JVC is the top one. The Sony was good, but it's longer to load the movie, and little things like this.

We have owned many dvd players. We had a panasonic, RCA, syberhome, and a Sony. The Sony lasted the longest before we had to replace it. The next one would be the Panasonic. I got the cheap $40 cyberhome from Target to put in my daughter's room, and it lasted a really long time, but there is a difference on the performance and quality so we never put it in our living room.

I would buy the sony dvd player if I had to buy a new one. I hear that JVC is good too. So maybe the better priced one between those 2.

I actually just went to Walmart and found the cheapest dvd player I could get my hands on which was about $30. It works great and has additional features as well.

My husband suggests Thompson or LG, we have had these ones and they have been very reliable and have never had any trouble with them. We have owned plenty of other types in the past eg. Sony, Omni and JVC and have found them not too last very long. So we stick with the Thompson and LG ones. I am not saying these other ones are bad ones but we just didn't have much luck with them ourselves.
