 Who wants to share their experience as a nurse. I am a newly registered nurse here in the Philippines. I wish to know more about experiences of nurses.

1.  lani0529 (1037) | 2 years ago |  Hi there! I just passed the December nursing licensure examination. What a relief! Thank God! We will be having our oath taking today at around 2:00pm. I'm really excited! I applied for work already but, as of now there is no response yet. I would like to train first in any provincial or big hospital for hands-on and personal experiences. I'm not that confident with my skills yet but, I'm be willing to learn as much as I could. Being a nurse is really a challenging career. Don't do think so? I'm proud to be a nurse! (",)

| 2. medigirl (14) | 2 years ago |  Nursing can be a tough field. Being younger and more energetic is helpful. I am a practicing nurse primarily in the field of HIV/AIDS which affects the community (Chicago) adversely. There are many people here living with the disease and much fewer services than they need. It can be frustrating because so many people affected can't work anymore.
How is it for people with HIV/AIDS in the Phillipines? I'd be interested to know.

| RNcorrupted (127) | 2 years ago | If you have AIDS or HIV here in the Philippines, I think what you should do is go to San Lazaro Hospital (the center of contagious/communicable diseases). They have a mini-hut there where AIDS/HIV patients stay and do some home economics like making baskets, bags, etc.
When I was on duty there, I even saw an AIDS patient (my clinical instructor whispered to me silently that she was an AIDS patient) walking along the hospital's walkway. She even greeted her. She looks very normal. She said she is heading to the hut to do some stuff. So they very much act like normal as if they have no illness. | |

| RNcorrupted (127) | 2 years ago | www.allnurses.com is a good site but has been tainted lately by biased moderators. For one, my post is not posted unless it is seen and approved by the moderator, when all my post talks about is cancelling my registration on the said site.
Instead of being sensitive to others, as fellow nurses look up on them (moderators) as guides, they will instead make arguments that NCLEX will never be in the Philippines (and the news that it is coming is a slap on their face) and they said it is not in the site of PEARSON VUE yet so it is not a sure thing (see the discouragement). I am disgusted by the way they reply to post with absolute certainty as if they are the NCSBN and PEARSON VUE.
And the holy ones are keen and forceful that June 06 board passers should retake the whole exam. And test 3 and 5 is not the only one to be taken, because the moderator said that if it happened to the US, they will retake the whole exam not the parts. And thus they were AS* slapped again as CGFNS opted to decide that ONLY test 3 and 5 should be retaken. And the moderators are wholly of admonishing that if the June 06 takers who are members of allnurses.com have took their advice of taking the whole exam in december, they have no problems whatsoever. If you want to see the bashing on the site. Visit it.
And to the moderators who act like they are Gods, the all-knowing nurses, who can predict the future with certainty, AMEN to you. Hope there will be no one else like you because you are a taint in the white uniform of nurses. | |

I have found an awesome nursing website. www.allnursesunite.com It was started by nurses sick of the shoddy tactics over on allnurses. This group is warm, friendly, easy to get along with and they don't mind anyone have an opinion. They treat you with respect. Their memberships are free. Give them a click! | |

I would love to work in the emergency room or SICU when i graduate (and pass the NCLEX of course!). Does anyone know how hard it is to get into one of these clinical settings as a new nurse?
