Please forgive me for laughing at this one. I have been diagnosed with a seizure disorder similar to epilepsy but not as severe. Teeth grinding is one of the symptoms of the disorder. I take prescription medication and I still grind my teeth.
At times, I have had a seizure while sleeping. During these seizures, my jaw will clamp down so hard I have broken some of my back molars. My doctor has suggested that I sleep with a mouth guard to protect my teeth from further harm.

That is what our grannies say. But i think some do it when they dream. I dont think its a alarming disease. I have noticed my son do this once in a way. When i give him worm treatment, it actually stops. May be there is a relation.

hehe...my mother once told me that chinese believe that if you grind your teeth at night, it's like you are grinding away your parents life...and will give them a shorter life...i dont know how true that is...but she say to wake the person up to stop the bad habit as the chinese believe in this.

Probably the chinese saying was based on the fact that children who love parents would not like to grind teeth consciously or unconsciously because if they are told that by doing so, they would reduce the longivity of parents. NO child would like that to happen.
I am waiting for some experets to write the reasons for grinding of teeth.

If that is true, I had no idea that it was a sign of worms in the body.
If I was to say something about the grinding of the teethe at night I would say that it is from stress, or something is upsetting that person in the dream. But, I did not know that it is a sign of worms. That is amazing and wierd at the same time.

Never heard that it is a sign of worms. But that's very amusing. For me it just has to do with stress.

No. I have always been told that it is a sign of tension. If everyone who grinds their teeth had worms, I am sure it would be considered an epidemic!

There is a belief that the child/adult is planning to take a revenge on someone, when one grinds the teeth at night. But they are only beliefs and has no basis. But the grinding of teeth could be due to worms in the stomach. This can be overcome by taking medicines prescribed by the doctors.
