What does valentine's day mean to you?

anything i can do on valentines day,i can do any other day.
so to me,valentines day is just another excuse for the shops to make money from selling tacky gimmicks that have no bearing on love at all.you dont need to buy this crap to let someone know you love them.i can hug my wife every day and i always walk hand in hand with her anyway.you can do this every day to.think about it.

One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men -- his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.

So I think Valentines Day should be more of a commemoration of a saint rather than a day for lovers. But since that saint stands for love, It's good to show more passion and love on that special day. But if I love someone, everyday should be a Valentines.
