Have you heard about sites for self hypnosis CD's?  

they have them in downloadable mp3s?!? Where would I find that? lol... I haven't tried using hypnosis to quit smoking yet but I have considered it. It's pretty pricey to go to the program up here though and it isn't offered very often. I've tried and failed with every other quit smoking program, what's the worst that could happen on this one? I'd fail again - oh well, I've become accustomed to it. I guess I'm just not a quitter.. lol..

You can download them for free,P2P , they are not that effective, it is like somebody telling u good stuff so ufeel good about yourself. Dun expect anything big or life changing stuff.but make sure you download one before u go and pay for them , some might find it waste of cash. so my advice to u , try one before u buy one. and as i said earlier use p2p softwares to find and download some of them for free.

I haven't ever used the recordings you're talking about. However, I know that hypnosis and self-hypnosis work. I'm a reporter and did a story on the use of self-hypnosis. As part of my research on the story, I was taught self-hypnosis. That very evening, after eating shrimp for dinner I started going into anaphylactic shock (20 years earlier, I'd been alergic to shrimp for a 7-year period but had been alergy-free for years.) I immediately told myself I wasn't going to become alergic again and put myself under. In less than 2 minutes, I was symptom free and haven't had an alergic reaction to shrimp or shellfish since.

A friend, who was a heavy smoker, went to one hypnosis session and was cured. That was more than 30 years ago and he's not had nor wanted a cigarette since.

I'm always skeptical about products that promise "cheap and easy" results, so I don't know if I'd pay for a recording. I would advise you to buy a book on self-hypnosis by a certified hypno-therapist or someone with similar credentials and learn it that way. Then, if you feel it might help, try one of the cheap downloads. Naturally, it depends on the individual and what they're trying to accomplish, but the keys to hypnotism are relaxation, deep focus, not being too analytical of the process, and keeping a fully positive attitude. Really believe that it's going to work.
