Auditor is like doing a detective job. Some crime commited in a firm is discovered in the financial records. Some management do not welcome such complicated situation.

Hi! It is true that an auditor's job is like a detective job. But not necessarily it is to reveal a crime. Sometimes an auditor help the company he/she checks by pointing out some key areas that they need to improve that would eventually make the company more efficient and more profit oriented. People sometimes think of auditors as watchdogs. Case would be is to whom the auditor works for. If the auditor is working in a firm where a company gets their services, then the auditors do what I described in the paragraph above. However, if the auditor works for the government, heh heh, their objective is really to find all your errors and assess you for you to pay for it!!! Cheers!

One of my bestfriend is a accounting manager and she is a very profficient accountant as she keep on checking some company's expenses and reimbursement she discover some malicious entry. She really loves her job and she takes full responsibility of her duties that's why she reveal the thief which is a old staff of thier company. It is necessary to take full action specially when you have a full basis and if it is beneficial to your company.

How's the pay as an auditor? I am here in Dumaguete City, Philippines taking up BS-Accountancy and I am going to work someday in Makati, Philippines specifically in SGV which is affiliated with Earnst and Young. How's the pay there?
