Would you buy someone elses breast milk for your baby?

No I wouldn't. I don't know how that woman takes care of herself. Me and my baby are bonding with one another and I don't or wouldn't not use another woman's lactations. I don't think it's sleazy or pathetic to sell ones breast milk because it's a lucrative natural market.

i wouldnt consider it.... but der is nothing sleazy or pathetic about women selling breast milk... it could be aresult of a variety of situational factors... and in some cases actually help the mothers who themselves are unable to breastfeed...

I think its a great idea. I would love for my children to get breast milk even if it wasn't mine, rather than have to have formula.
Why is it sleazy?

I've never heard of such a thing and there is no way on earth I would buy someone else's milk to give my children. Goodness, with all the diseases and stuff going around I think I would buy a goat, milk it myself, and give that to my children before I would buy milk online for them. This is sick if you ask me.

I can't think of any reason I would possibly buy breast milk. Are you sure they are selling it to babies? LOL I can't help but to think this is a sick world. I would be to afraid to buy breast milk off the street. That's how I think about it.

I wouldn't sell my breastmilk, but when I was pumping my lactation consultant asked me to donate it. Many premie or sick babies benefit from breastmilk and they pasteurize it and go over the mothers diet to make sure it's safe. I didn't have enough to do this, but I would donate before selling it.

I would never buy someone else's milk. I knw in times gone by people used wet nurses, but with formula freely available, I would use that as an alternative to my own. Milk carries disease. I can't imagine giving a stranger's milk to a child.

It is not sleazy and pathetic. Although I wouldn´t go ahead and buy milk this way, I don´t think there is anything wrong with it. There ought to be some guidelines and tests in place though. My son never breastfed and was healthy, but there are many babies who don´t do well on formula and are unable to be breastfed. That´s where other women´s milk would come in very handy. I would prefer the above method of donation, though, just because I feel it is more regulated.
