extradition

my husband was picked up in va for a warrant he had in tennessee from 6yrs ago. I cant get a straight answer from anyone. I want to know what I need to do. How long does tn have to come get him. How does this process work. He is our source of income. So if I need to make some arrangements to move I think its my right to know. I have 2 children and one on the way to think about. Any advice would help.
