I'm doing a project for my education class and we have to write up Lesson Plans for the class. Is there a certain outline I should follow? How do you do your's if you're a teacher?

Here are a few suggestions from an ex-teacher: - Consider giving your lesson plan a title - Underneath the title, write down three things that you hope to accomplish at the end of the lesson. For example, will students be able to solve problems using a certain algorithm? - Below that, write a step-by-step sequence that shows how you will achieve your goals or objectives. In other words, what is the very first thing that you will do, then what, then what after that, and so on. - At the end, in a section entitled, "Evaluation," write two or three things that will let you know if you accomplished your goals. For example, students will take and pass a short quiz on the algorithms at the end of this lesson. Hope this helps! And good luck!

There are a lot of sites on the net that have lesson plans. Try a search for lesson plans and you should get good results. There is one site called Teacher Planet that has quite a few.

It did help. I wish my teacher would have had a guide line for me to follow. I have a feeling though it was in the book I haven't gotten yet... Anyway... thanks for the help!

When we wrote up our lesson plans, I believe we had to list what the lesson would accomplish, as in what it would work on, if it had any cognitive advancements or whatever it may be. We then wrote up what the plan was about, what supplies we needed and then we wrote up how we'd carry the plan out. We also talked about what could go wrong and how we cold fix those problems if that issue did arise.

My former girlfriend is a primary school teacher. She has to give the authorities a report once every season on how she is going to teach her class. So she must write up lesson plans very often. Her layout includes a list of the subjects to be covered, brief descriptions of lessons, their goals and activities concerned, time needed to be implemented to each subject. She also lists the core curriculum objectives and expected student learning outcomes. She always get her plan done perfectly, the school awarded her the best teacher last year.
