solo singer or group band??

nowadays music develop very well! there's a very good musicians but also the bad ones. there's a solois singer and group (band). what do you think about solo singer and band? which one better? which one will show the best performance? as we know there's a lot of group (band) either boy/girl band or band with only one or two personnels who can sing, the rest personnels only as a backing vocal who sing "dadadadididuu".
