Peanut Butter Recall

I almost bought some this last time but got Jif instead which right now I'm glad of. I prefer Peter Pan as well normally but right now kind of glad that I decided to go with the competition. It's scary as to what can happen. You never know with things. I'm sure if you've been eating it right along and it just finished the jar then I would think it would be alright.

My mom IM'd me about it because she has Peter Pan but she's had it for a while now. They don't eat it a lot so she's had it for some time and she said she kept it in the fridge so hopefully it's ok. Normally we buy Peter Pan or the Wal-Mart but not this time. I got Jiff and we have a jar from Doller General, thank goodness.

They are made by the same parent company. I'd never heard of this happening before either. I've heard of it with other foods but not peanut butter. It's weird.

Sometimes it's nice to buy a different brand and now we know why.

It didn't state what caused it so going to have to wait on that one. Just that they are looking into it.

I have no clue on that part. Might be best to call Wal-Mart and ask them. I bet they know what you have to do and what refund or replacement you get for it.

Call the number on the jar label for Conagra Foods and they will tell you what to do.

Well you do what you need to do. I think a lot of it is going to be based on how it got contaminated. From what I saw they were still investigating.

did you see the news today? a woman from St. Louis is suing them because she says that her kids have been sick for months. I hope your child gets better soon.

I live in St Louis and it was just on the news that 15 new cases of salmonella were confirmed just today from the peanut butter. I also heard that apparently the jars got the salmonella at some plant in georgia i think where its made or put in the jars or something. Whatever your child has Avon i hope she gets better soon.

Heheh well I can understand that. Once you hear something might be a problem you have a tendency to look at similar items wondering if it too could be a problem.

Well I know myself I'm not big on watching the news and this is pretty important. One normally doesn't think about peanut butter.

You're welcome. I saw that last night and though wow, I know we normally have one of those so I can imagine how many might be effected. Sometimes it's good to go with what is cheaper huh?

To be honest I have no clue. The article and the news last night didn't say how. They might still be figuring that part out.

The messed up thing about this though is the company new back in July that Salmonella had contaminated the peanut butter. They wait 8 months to informed the public. My daughter's doctor and the local health department things my childs intestional problem is due to Salmonella poisoning. Before it was announced she had another PB&J and has been in exteme pain since. No more PB&J. I'm very angry over this.
I added up the doctors bills and it comes up to $12,867.23. They better be willing to pay it off and her other medical bills that will come from this. I'm going to sue Con Agra Foods, they knew and didn't say anything.
