You should know about other parties in the context of what opposition there is to the ANC which is now the dominant force in South African politics. You do not need much detail on these parties as you will not be asked to write 10 marks on any one of them. The sort of question that has come up recently is, “To what extent is there opposition to the ANC?” If you can say who the main parties are, who they represent and have a little bit of information on their main aims that will be fine.
