Oh yes! there are a lot of things that i wish i never said and i wish i could take back. But harsh words once spoken and inflicted the hurt that we intended, will always leave a scar.

Even if she deserved it, I think parents should be respected. the last thing they want to hear is being insulted by their kids. As for your question, it happened to me once, but it wasn't name calling. I once told a friend of mine (not a close friend) about a fight between me and my brother. He kept on asking about it and reminding me with it every time I saw him. I wished I could go back in time and change it just to keep his mouth shut.

well in a way ive said alot of things to people i didn't mean but i don't wish i could take it back, ive only said it because they were in the wrong or done something/said that i didn't like, nobody gets jumped on for nothing, lol! not that im mean or anything but that's just the way it is with me, ie- one time i called my partner a ditrty horrible word, i could see he was upset but i didn't take it back because he was the one who got me started so he was in the wrong! :o)

why not? just because she's your mother doesnt mean she cant behave in a bad manner. I think if you can face someone you love and tell them when they're wrong, then its admirable on your part. I'd be happy to have someone put me in my place if i needed it. dont carry the guilt. it could have been the best thing you'd done.
