There is a thought that you can heal the human body with a beam of light. Sounds like a Star Trek kind of thing. Today's doctors though are finding they can use different kinds of light in medicine. There are researchers explorig things like penetrating beams of light that seem to repair heart tissue after a heart attack, and maybe light therapy maybe can improve Alzheimer's patients that cannot sleep through the night. Doctor's are remedying he side effects of cancer treatment, severe acne, and other ailments just be shining high intensity light in varying colors on the affected areas. LED's are often used. No heat and pain free. Light appears to work on human tissue at the cellular level, transfers energy to the mitochondria which function as microscopic power plants that help the body to repair. Light seems to speed up or slow down certain chemical processes in cells. NEAR INFRAREDLIGHT treat oral sores the side effectof chemo or radiation therapies. Possibly reverse blindness by stimulating retinal cells in the eye. Cut the severity of heart attack severity up to 50% and repair tissue afterward. RED LIGHT seems to help wounds heal more quickly, remove certain precancerous skin cells without scarring. Reverse aging too!? Promote collagen formation. Anti inflmammatory effect and can kill bacteria maybe treating severe acne. BLUE LIGHT anti bacterial agent, reset biological clock. Treat seasonal affective disorder (winter blues) increase alertness fight insomnia. Help Alzheimers patients to sleep through the night. ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT keep bacteria and virues from reproducing. Maybe to sterilze the air. Currently used in water treatment plants with New York building the world's largest UV treatment facility for treating 2 billion gallons of water a day. Do you consider this to be an advancement??

Yes, this is a very big advancement, and a step forward. It is known that just sunshine, can get rid of depression, help athritis and other aches and pains, & change a persons mood. This this makes a lot of sense and is awesome in my opinion.

I've heard talk of this too. I think it's a great thing and should be further explored. I think we tend to take natural things for granted when it comes to healing. I think we should better explore sound to help with healing too :)

My first thought, as I read this was that sunlight can help in the healing process. I dont know about all this other kind of light stuff. That just sounds weird to me. It is however a known fact that sunlight can even help with depression. It has the abliity to make us have more energy also. I think that God knew what he was doing when he made the sunlight for us to enjoy. I just really have doubts about these other forms of light helping to heal. I guess time will tell

Yes. There are lots of different treatments currently avilable for various illnesses and afflictions that use light. Take for example SAD (seasonal affective disorder), that can be helped a great deal with the use of light, as can a lot of skin conditions such as Psoriosis. My parnter worked with a chap who was using a sdunbed machine that you stand up in, having short blast of light on his skin, to help clear up his psoriosis. So yes, depending on what you need to be cured of, light may well be effective in curing you!

In addition to SAD, other disorders can be, and have been treated with light for years. I have children who were born with Jaundice, which means that their livers were not fully developed when they were born. My oldest son was kept in the hospital under a blue light for a few extra days. When they sent him home, it was with instructions to put him in a sunny window often, and watch him to make sure his eyes did not become yellow. If they did, I was to get him to the doctor right away because the jaundice was getting worse. My youngest had a much worse case of jaundice, and he was kept under the blue light even longer. When I was allowed to bring him home, he had to wear a special vest which plugged into a machine. The vest was lit up, and was to be on him 24 hours a day. The only time I was allowed to take it off was long enough to make the daily trip to the hospital for blood tests to see where his bilirubin blood levels were. He spent the first month of his life strapped to a machine, wearing a lighted vest, and making a daily trip to the hospital for blood tests before his blood levels were finally low enough that his tests could be dropped down to weekly. The vest stayed on for about another month, before it was finally removed.
