IS IT TRUE that OSCAR awards ARE JINXED??!! WHOEVER WINS IT...IS NOT WELL OFF??!

I don't believe winning an Oscar provokes bad luck or misfortune. (I'm not sure what you mean by "like Halle Berry". She appears to be having a ball with Gabriel Aubry, she still makes millions per movie, and she's free to work or not work when she chooses.) Maybe it's about how we accept good fortune or bad. The brightest, the talented, the most tenacious professionals tend to thrive, despite misfortune. But even if any actor or actress encounters a career slump or a personal tragedy after winning an Oscar, they can always remember they have an Oscar on their mantel ... a significant achievement and validation nonetheless, in my opinion.

Halle Berry is probably not well off in England, since she is skinny. But doesn't mean she is not well off in general.
Entertainment world is highly competitive field, it's dramatic ups and downs. Winning either Oscar or other awards is a huge achievement which means higher pay which means you won't always get the call the play a role.
Not to mention personal needs to have a family and settle down, I think you know even Jolie talks about moving away from Hollywood. Those who haven't won any awards threw out $ 3 millions wedding, building $ 8 millions house and wears at least $ 50,000 in casuals - can you imagine those who won these awards? they could buy mylot if so they wish LOL

Salary: $10,000,000 for Perfect Stranger (2007), $14,000,000 for Catwoman (2004), $6,000,000 for Gothika. Don't think Halle is hurtin! And since her oscar win for Erin Brochovich Julia Roberts is the highest paid female star. So I think they'll be ok. We should all be so financially jinxed! lol
