Any other old school fans missing the early days? |

Hello All
Let me start by saying I am a HUGE Indigo Girls fan. the first time I heard an Indigo Girls song was "Secure Yourself to Heaven" and I immeadiately fell in love with the harmonies, lyrics and guitar playing. Since then I was always the first to get the new albums as they were released and have been to close to a dozen shows. The last couple albums have left me wondering....what happened to that oldschool accoustic folk rock that I love so much? I still love the new music....I think the fact the girls have branched out into new genres is really cool....and Emily has improved her high register significantly in my opinion...but I miss the old days. Thank goodness that "Rarities" was released....I love all the old school songs on that album...Again, I love my Indigo Girls but does anyone else know what I mean?

| 1. jesusica (31) | 3 years ago | i love the indigo girls. i have seen them in concert many times and have almost all their albums. do you remember the song "prince of darkness"? that is one of my favorites. i also love 'kid fears'. i like a lot of their new stuff too though. i just feel like they are branching out into more of a pop style. i think my favorites are their really bluegrassy songs.

I think its cool they are taking risks and there are still some of the old school type songs....guess i just love the old stuff soooooooooo much that it will always be their best stuff to me:-) If you dont have Rarities i highly recommend you pick up a copy....really great cd and well worth having in your collection

| 2. jennycorvette (9) | 3 years ago | I agree. I'm not crazy about their newer stuff but I like pretty much every old song they ever did, including the covers. If I had to pick a least favorite song, it'd be cold beer and a remote control. But my fave album is the live concert one (what's it called...?) It's got all the goodies on there... Ghost, Pushing the Needle, Galileo, and Neil Young's Down by the River, and Dylan's Tangled Up in Blue.

4. Conundrum (101) | 3 years ago | It's funny.. I have a sister three years younger than me, and I remember seeing an Indigo Girls cd in her room when I was home for a visit. Didnt think much about it then.
One day, searching through an online karaoke site, I found a couple of indio girls songs and thought Id give them a listen. I got hooked on Galileo and even recorded it.. I like them now!
