Baby walking shoes.... |
| |
| back in December I bought my son his first pair of walking shoes at stride rite. They told me to come back in 3 months to measure him again. My question is When can my son start wearing regular sneaker rather than the walking shoes. | | | | | |

| | Usually about two. When your child is walking unsupported for awhile and his ankles have hardened. Atleast that is what I have been told. If they are running around and walking without problems they should be fine in regular sneakers or shoes. You just want to make sure that they are developing correctly. | | | | | | |

| | I kept my son in soft-soled shoes until recently, it's hard to find them in larger sizes. It's best for their feet to be bare or in soft soles for their muscles to develop properly. Now that he's older, I'm sure to buy shoes that are flexible, he's 18 months and he's been walking for 9 months now. I put some flexible rubber soled shoes on him, he ran right away, so I figured he is fine. I think going 3 months before being measured again is too long, it seems like my son goes up a size every month. | | | | | | |

| | when he's standing, feel where his toes are in the shoes, he should have a little bit of room in them to move. It seems like they grow overnight! | | | |

| | Probably at around age 1. When babies are young their feet tend to grow so fast it would be too expensive to keep buying new shoes because of this growth. I hate it that they don't have many designs for babies shoes. | | | | | | |

| | Your son can start wearing regular shoes at any time. Walking shoes are just there to make it a little easier for him to walk. He can still wear other shoes at any time though. They may just make it a little harder for him to walk. | | | | | | |

| | Honestly, I never paid much attention if they were "walking" shoes or just regular shoes... My son had larger feet than most kids his age, and started walking at 8 months, so I doubt that there would have been walking shoes in his size anyways. It is important to keep him barefoot as much as possible, and reserve shoes soley (no pun intended) for outdoor use. We never had any problems with his feet, but I suppose I do recall looking for soft soles, I don't know if that qualifies as 'walking' shoes or not. Another tip, they grow out of thier shoes rather quickly, (as another person stated above) initially we went to stride rite or other stores like that, but eventually we found we couldn't justify spending 40 dollars on a pair of shoes he would wear for a month (sometimes even less, he outgrew his easter shoes in 2 weeks, never got to wear them, thankfully he has a little brother!) Pay less has great deals and quality shoes! | | | | | | |

| | My son still isn't walking much yet but we already have him in hard soled shoes. He's almost 13 months old and getting ready to move up to a size six so we just can't find the little soft shoes that fit him anymore. But he only wears shoes when we are out somewhere. We always put them on him before we go outside just because of how cold it is here. As long as your baby spends most of his indoor time barefoot, his little muscles should develop just fine. | | | | | | |

| | is there really a difference? because when i got my son his first pair of shoes, they were the white high top shoes, but they had a rubber sole on the bottom, not that hard sole that use to be on them. | | | | | | |
