Music you're supposed to hate.  

For whatever reason, there are certain kinds of music that people are expected to dislike, despite their obvious popularity. Tell us about your socially irresponsible tastes.



Bagpipes: People say they're annoying but I say they're inspiring. Bagpipes (competently played) are higly motivational instruments. I want pipes at my funeral. As a poem I read once said of the Irish, "All their wars are merry, and all their songs are sad."

Banjo music/ Bluegrass: I've always liked banjos. To me banjo music is what you do when you're sitting out on a porch and relaxing with friends. Harmoicas fit in this category as well. It's just good, simple fun.

Polka: Perhaps it's just a cultural thing, but growing up in central Texas, I heard a lot of polka music. I know it's supposed to be aggravating, but I grew up with it, so it doensn't bother me. It's just such upbeat and plainly happy music. Celebration music. Glad to be alive music.

So what crap do you people listen to when no one is watching?
