| Have you noticed? The only place that com users listen to music is at work? | | | | I just thought about it (and I mean heavy thought folks!) that I have always been a lover of music but a hater of the cost of keeping up with your music. Yes, I know, I am the sterotypical data brain that the music sites all want! I could have given them all the focus group info they would ever need on music and the average person's tech reticence. Mind you I have had a computer in my home since the old Commodore 64's back in the mid 80's (I was 7 when they came out I think) and I had one of the only 1495 Commodore 128's which was double YES THAT'S FIGHT FOLKS! Double the computing memory space! A whole huge 124 bits of space. Not even enough to play to the 6th level of Pong! And when they first started with the internet and scaling everything for the various skill levels of users I kept saying "The day that they develope larger memories for personal computers is the day that you'll find every song known to man going in and going out of the internet." it was like the sex industry and the net. They go together like lama lama ....You know. Anyway I have begun to wonder if they or we are at the root of trouble UI am seeing/hearing? now. You know what I mean the problem with regular radio (since sirrius anyway) is that they have too many commercials and everything stupid a$$ to dangerously dumb DJ's aka Disck jockeys. It has gotten sooooo bad since the advent of digital satellite radio with no commercials. They claim that digital radio has taken over 25% of their market share(listeners) and thusly lowered the amount they can reasonably charge for advertising spots. Plus now that everyone and their mama is a member of a music downloading site and MP3 players have also cut into this market mind you so their revenues are being cut back on every arm while the overhead is not so they can't afford to pay the talent on the radio very much. So poor quality hosts is the result of that also. Which is in essence them blaming us, the reason they get paid at all (advesing pays for radio stations), the listening public for what they are also forced to make us listen to more often also due to compensate for the loss of advertising revenues due to lowering the costs. So enlighten me. Is the culprit A)Satellite radio with no commercials B) Digital downloaders of "pirated music" which is "effecting" the music industry and making them able to pay the radio staions less for air time too C.Us or D. Some whole other effing reason ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Inquiring minds want to know!
