Schild takes Austria's second cup | | Marlies Schild kept the Austrian women on course for a clean sweep of the 2007 Alpine ski World Cup titles on Sunday by taking the slalom crown with her sixth win of the season, in Sierra Nevada, Spain.
Teammate Renate Goetschl has already wrapped up the super-G title and leads the downhill standings by 134 points with three races to go.
Schild's sixth win in seven slalom races this season put her into the lead in the overall standings as well, just 33 points ahead of Goetschl.
With Nicole Hosp leading the giant slalom and Schild the new combined title chase, the Austrians could well repeat their feat of 1999 when they took home all the trophies.
For such a dominant team, it was a relief to claim back the slalom trophy which had eluded them since Sabine Egger won it eight years ago.
