Philosopical or theological sayings

wow, there are so many. I suppose, however, the two I need to remind myself of most often are:
1)Lean not unto thine own understandings
2)The Lord Giveth, and the Lord Taketh away

But then there are those really encouraging passages that are a comfort such as:
Ye though I walk in the shadow of the valley of death, I shall fear no evil, Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me....etc

See, I have carved thee in the palm of my hand.....
I am with thee all days even unto the consumation of the world......
I shall not leave thee orphaned.

I reckon I can not narrow it down to just 1 thing!

I could go on forever on this subject, I studied it for a few semesters...
