When your new towels arrive, if possible wash them before use on a low '40 degrees' quick wash. Take care not to use too much powder or liquid, as towels don't require as much as clothes or sheets do. This is because the fluffiness of them lathers the detergent up very quickly - and with too much lather, some residue may be left in the towel. Avoid using fabric conditioner on the first wash. It coats the towel fibres to make them feel soft, but at the same time, the coating reduces absorbency and there's nothing worse than a towel which doesn't immediately absorb the water off your skin. I find using just a little conditioner every other wash keeps my towels feeling soft yet still absorbent. On removing towels from the washing machine, pull any feature borders back in shape, before tumble-drying on a low heat to fluff them up beautifully.

Build-up on towels, linens, and clothes can weigh them down. Old detergent is removed from the fibers over time restoring the fluffiness of towels and natural softness. It also helps eliminate the itching and redness caused by allergies due to detergents embedded in clothing.
Machine-wash warm in large-capacity machine, gentle cycle. Use non-chlorine bleach as needed. Tumble-dry low in large-capacity machine. Shake after drying to restore fluffiness.
