Do you listen to music in languages other than English?
Which languages and what are your favorite bands/artists?

I'm Argentine- Spanish is my first language- so of course I listen to music in Spanish (Bersuit Vergarabat, Charly Garcia, Pedro Guerra, etc.).

I love French music (Camille, Benjamin Biolay, Carla Bruni).

In Italian I like Jovanotti, among others.

Brazilian music is beautiful. Toquinho & Vinicius, Chico Buarque, Caetano Veloso, Rita Lee, Os Paralamas.

How about you?

Just like you Sofia, Spanish is my first language and, because of this, I tend to listen to music groups that represent the Latin American region.
Since I am Venezuelan, I enjoy listening to Venezuelan musicians such as Simon Diaz, whose legendary career has been a crusade aimed at highlighting the lore and musical traditions of Los Llanos (the Venezuelan plains), or the Latin dance band known as Los Amigos Invisibles, whose members have given a new definition to Venezuelan music with their blend of disco, acid jazz, and funk music, as well as with their Gozadera Records company.
But there are plenty of great lyrics, sounds and positive messages coming from other Spanish speaking places, such as Sin Bandera and Mana from Mexico, Los Cafres from Argentina, Ruben Blades from Panama, and, of course, all the reggaeton artists coming from Puerto Rico, such as Daddy Yankee or Tego Calderon, who (I believe) should not be judge by their appearance as drug or crime related persons, but as leader of a Latin movement similar to hip hop that has taken over mainstream U.S. and Europe.

I'll listen to anything, in any language, but in French I listen to Menelik, Keny Arkana, K-Reen, MC Solaar. In Papiamento(u) - Basic One. In Spanish, Shakira, Belinda, Pitbull. I wish I could think of more. Right now, I can't think of a whole lot.
