Do Live in the City or the Country?  

I live in one of the best cities in the world!!! MONTREAL in Quebec, Canada!!!!

I like the people, the cars, the streets and night lights everywhere. I like all the races who live here!!!!!! There seems to be so many. When you get into metro or bus, you can hear people talking in so many different languages which you never heard before!!!! It is great!!!!

Though practically speaking it's better to live in the city because it's where the opportunities are, the best place still to live 'forever' is in a serene, peaceful place that no other places can give but in the country. It's the simplicity of living there that will make me satisfied living in it.

We lived in the country for 11 yrs and just loved it. Our place was very private and tranquil, a very relaxing place to be but now we are in the city for my husbands job and have to say we like it to. it's nice to order pizza or go for a coffee or a movie before it was an all day event because we lived 45 minutes from the city. There's advantages and disadvantages of both but I sure enjoyed the country life.

I have all my life loved the country - my escape from life is to go as far out in nature as I can. Currently I live on Main St. yep right in town on the busiest road, 2 blocks from the fire/police department. Luckily though it is a very small town and right behind me is a woods and swamp and believe it or not I have deer in my back yard all the time.

I live in the suburbs of a city, so i guess that's the city and not the country. I prefer the city, but to be precise i should say the outskirts of it, not the centre. I want to have the city close to me, but at the same time a bit of peace and quiet, so the suburbs are the best possible area for me. I love the country for weekends or to spend there a couple of weeks, but not for every day, i'd miss too many things.

i am living the capital city of my country 'India' just because of my job here. my hometown where i grew up and spent all life before shifting this place is indeed my preference being on the coast with wide spread beaches. its good here with all people from different states and religion, apart from the best medical and educational evenues available, but sometimes i feel to run away and settle down in my hometown with all my easily accessible and caring relatives and my childhood friends. in a way its just a obligation i am here.

I must say that I love the country.
I already lived in both places and because I like quite places the country is the life for me.
The only problem about the country is that everybody knows everybody. And people don't have much to do, so they star talking about other people life, and I really don't like this.
Other than that is really wonderful to live in the country!

I grew up in the suburbs, and I have always had a home in the suburbs of the city as well. I don't like the 'city' proper, but I also don't want way out in the country. I am weird in that I get claustrophobic in wide open spaces! I feel so cut off from the world in the country. Being a nurse I think about weird things like, "how long would it take an ambulance to get here" and stuff like that!

Country is the only place for me. Let me tell you about my life and you can think about it. You come out for peace and quiet. Well if you have a small lot you still have neighbors. Kids can make alot of noise if they don't have chores to keep them busy and especially if they have those 4 wheelies.
I have 43 acres and am 1000 feet off the road. I still hear the mowers on those little lots that are mowed like city lots. Irritating when you wish to hear the birds. I try to garden when they are not mowing. Can't avoid it sometimes since it about every 3 days. What a waste.
Our driveway, even if not as long sometimes needs plowed in the snows. Even if not the road we are on did not get plowed til a day later during our last snow event.
We drive farther for groceries, eat out, go to movies etc.
Employment is a bit more hard to come by too. Alot hinges on how far you have to drive.
Hope that this gives you a thought or two. I wouldn't trade it.

I live in the country! I love it-- Alot of land to ride our 4-wheelers and snowmobiles.. Fresh air-- quiet- peaceful.. and even alot of privacy! I grew up in the country also.. Right now we're about 6 miles out of town.. It's just the right distance.
Now ask me when I'm running up and down the hill running my daughter to practice, band concert, grocery store when we're out of milk, to a friends house-- and I might say I wish I lived in town.
Never the city though-- I wouldn't want to have neighbors living practically right on me-- all the noise, etc.
