 Good gracious me. What a palavar the star rating system is. But I do find it interesting, and it got me athinking. It seems the star rating system is not exact. So how, I asked myself, can we get an exact score.
To do this I have composed a list of questions. Each question has an answer and an associated score. Answer the questions as honestly as you can, and add up your score. At the bottom of the page, you will find your REAL star rating.
1. Are you remotely interested in the responses you will receive to your discussions?
Never – 0 points.
Sometimes – 1 point.
Always – 2 points.
2. Do you read all your responses?
Never – 0 points.
Sometimes – 1 point.
Always – 2 points.
3. Before you respond to a discussion, do you read all the other responses first?
Never – 0 points.
Sometimes – 1 point.
Always – 2 points.
4. Do you give your discussions best responses when you get one? Lol
Never – 0 points.
Sometimes – 1 point.
Always – 2 points.
5. Do you write discussions or responses with less than seven words?
Never – 2 points.
Sometimes – 1 point.
Always – 0 points.
6. Do you rate all the discussions you respond to?
Never – 0 points.
Sometimes – 1 point.
Always – 2 points.
7. Do you rate all the responses you receive?
Never – 0 points.
Sometimes – 1 point.
Always – 2 points.
8. Do you rate people negatively if they have disagreed with you, or if you have a cyber-dislike of them?
Never – 2 points.
Sometimes – 1 point.
Always – 0 points.
9. Do you write your discussions or responses with your best possible English, spelling, grammar, and punctuation?
Never – 0 points.
Sometimes – 1 point.
Always – 2 points.
10. Do you strive with mind, body, and perhaps a notebook, to write discussions that will benefit the world?
Never – 0 points.
Sometimes – 1 point.
Always – 2 points.
Now check your score?
Score= 19 – 20. Ten Stars
Score= 17 – 18 Nine Stars
Score= 15 – 16 Eight Stars
Score= 13 – 14 Seven Stars
Score= 11 – 12 Six Stars
Score= 9 - 10 Five Stars
Score= 7 - 8 Four Stars
Score= 5 - 6 Three Stars
Score= 3 - 4 Two Stars
Score= 1 - 2 One Stars
How did you do? Having been completely honest with myself, I can tell you I have six stars. Woe is me.

1.  oldbuddy (5750) | 3 years ago |  I just decided to ignore my star rating altogether. it doesn't seem to have any effect on earnings, so why get upset over something I can't control. I am guessing that I get lower marks because I have a fixation on earning money and talk about it incessantly, but them that's what I do so I can't hide it or change, can I?

| juliocstryfe (1642) | 3 years ago |  Well my star rating fluctuates up and down, whenever I point out some flaw, like the fact that Muslims shouldnt bash Christians as the Qran forbids it, or that AGLOCO´s agreement is pretty scammish, and that the Bill Gates talks about AAGLOCO is a lie, someone always starts flaming me, and soon I loose a point or two.
Anyway, since Mylot has improved the ratings system, it seems that those that try and bring down one´s rating looses more stars than the person he´s disagreeing with, and the "!" button is pretty useful, so Ive never had it go below 4, but never above 8

2.  beaniefanatic13 (1397) | 3 years ago |  I am being completely honest, I scored a perfect 20. I actually do all of those things. The only reason that I got the one with the d"o you read all responses" is that I generally don't leave a response in a discussion that has more than 30 responses, as I don't want to read through them all. But I have read a few that I did and they are just to exhausting for me. I really do try to follow all the rules here. I'm truly hopeless and will be starting a 12 step program for people like me. LOL!!!!

I somehow find that mylot doesn't calculate by quality unless of course I responded to discussions that got deleted, but other than that they did it by assigning certain dollar amount per post.
Can you compose something for that too? Now I will do the star checking.

One of the responses said that it was not related to money earned...is it from other users rating you? or does my lot determine the number? | Desiderata (503) | 3 years ago | You get a star when you reach 100 points. It will be based (as far as I know) upon the ratings you receive from other users.
The calculation in this post is my own invention and is not intended as an approximation of the one myLot uses. It is just for a little bit of fun.

Actually, I got a 19, because I don't ALWAYS read all the responses to a discussion I post to, just because one in a while something really catches my eye when I have limited time to post (as in I have to hurry off to work or my baby is crying).
