 Good gracious me. What a palavar the star rating system is. But I do find it interesting, and it got me athinking. It seems the star rating system is not exact. So how, I asked myself, can we get an exact score.
To do this I have composed a list of questions. Each question has an answer and an associated score. Answer the questions as honestly as you can, and add up your score. At the bottom of the page, you will find your REAL star rating.
1. Are you remotely interested in the responses you will receive to your discussions?
Never – 0 points.
Sometimes – 1 point.
Always – 2 points.
2. Do you read all your responses?
Never – 0 points.
Sometimes – 1 point.
Always – 2 points.
3. Before you respond to a discussion, do you read all the other responses first?
Never – 0 points.
Sometimes – 1 point.
Always – 2 points.
4. Do you give your discussions best responses when you get one? Lol
Never – 0 points.
Sometimes – 1 point.
Always – 2 points.
5. Do you write discussions or responses with less than seven words?
Never – 2 points.
Sometimes – 1 point.
Always – 0 points.
6. Do you rate all the discussions you respond to?
Never – 0 points.
Sometimes – 1 point.
Always – 2 points.
7. Do you rate all the responses you receive?
Never – 0 points.
Sometimes – 1 point.
Always – 2 points.
8. Do you rate people negatively if they have disagreed with you, or if you have a cyber-dislike of them?
Never – 2 points.
Sometimes – 1 point.
Always – 0 points.
9. Do you write your discussions or responses with your best possible English, spelling, grammar, and punctuation?
Never – 0 points.
Sometimes – 1 point.
Always – 2 points.
10. Do you strive with mind, body, and perhaps a notebook, to write discussions that will benefit the world?
Never – 0 points.
Sometimes – 1 point.
Always – 2 points.
Now check your score?
Score= 19 – 20. Ten Stars
Score= 17 – 18 Nine Stars
Score= 15 – 16 Eight Stars
Score= 13 – 14 Seven Stars
Score= 11 – 12 Six Stars
Score= 9 - 10 Five Stars
Score= 7 - 8 Four Stars
Score= 5 - 6 Three Stars
Score= 3 - 4 Two Stars
Score= 1 - 2 One Stars
How did you do? Having been completely honest with myself, I can tell you I have six stars. Woe is me.

41.  sydz21 (644) | 3 years ago |  well im not really sure how the star system here in mylot is calculated... is it based on your posts? is it based on your responses? is it based on the best responses you receive? or the best responses you give out? there is really a big question mark about the star system... and if you ask the mylot community about it there is a disparity as to what they think about how it is determined... but having read your discussion and going through the point system youve created ive got 7 stars not bad for a new user like me this is only the 5th day ive been to mylot.com=)

As far as I know the star system is based on the following:
The ratings you receive for your discussions.
The ratings you receive for your comments.
The best responses you get.
So the key is – keep making good interesting discussions, and keep responding in like manner.
I cannot prove give you full details, but I am convinced there is a relation (direct or otherwise) between your star and your earnings. After all, if people don't like what you say, they probably won't respond to what you write. | |

42.  tinam13 (759) | 3 years ago |  wow. where did u come up with this. its pretty accurate, but i should still have a higher star rating then if ur way is true. i had a 9 yesterday, now im at a 4 how does that happen, i dont think its fair, because i spend a good amount on here everday and i have really quality answers the only thing i need to do is rate people more. that would probably help me more i guess.
