For concerned parents… Do you have a key-logger in your kid’s computer?  

well there should be a key logger for concerned parents but it is not a very effective or good idea as it can be fooled easily with random keys etc .
but the best part would be to have an index.dat file reader as it stores absolutely all the pages visited on the computer .

You are right. These days kids are more computer literate, they know in fact more than adults. However, you have just got to be a administrator of your computer at home - that is, do not allow them to delete or install any program in the computer, only administrator can. You have to keep the password and change every now and then. There is a way to setup your computer such that no one is able to 'extra' things other than you. Take a look at www.microsoft.com or search 'how to manage your computer' at google search

I have not become a parent myself. However, I would feel very offended if my parents do not trust me enough to leave my computer without a keylogger. A PC should remain a PC literally - a PERSONAL computer.

So I guess I need to remember that when I become a parent in future. :P

Any parent knows that you have to watch where you child goes and what they do online these days. The problem is that parents are not always around to monitor children and not all passwords are secure. A new product called KidSafe uses a USB token that works with the Windows logon system. With the KidSafe key installed, the PC is usable, but without the key in the system, you cannot access the PC at all. The PC does not have to be on a domain to use the KidSafe key, the device uses strong RSA encryption, and there are online key management services in case the key is lost or damaged. Even safe mode booting is disabled when using KidSafe.

I have never heard of this program before. Can you tell me more about it? Is this a free or pay program? Can be ordered of the internet? I would really like to get this for my teenager. As we bump heads alot and I only want to prtect him.

My child is all grown up and out of the house, and I can't help but empathize with parents these days, there are so many pot holes and dangers that in my time bringing up a child, really looks like child's play, compare to today's parents.
