Is Aunt Petunia (Harry Potter's Aunt) really Voldemort in disguise?  

Sorry, but over on JK Rowling's official website she says flat out this is not true. I don't think she would lie and tick off her fans by saying something was not true when it was. Petunia is just a narrow minded woman who is more concerned about what the neighbors think that doing right. In some ways, this is more dangerous than Voldemort. Voldemort is just plain evil. People like Petunia let evil survive as long as it does not affect them or their standing in the community.

Thank you for the laugh...good one. And yes, petunia could be a witch or at least a word that rhymes with it.

And that is an interesting thought about her being a witch, is there a saying from Shakepeare 'He doth protest to much'.

That is some to consider, but then I would think that it would have been mentioned earlier..about having been invited to Hogwarts or being kicked out...maybe she is a former lover of Snape...(shudder the thought).

It could even be Uncle Vernon, has anyone considered it's him who's really Voldemort? OOOps he who shouldn't be named? I agree with your concept Rachel, but seeing as he shouldn't be named is male then Uncle Vernon would be the ideal villain in disguise! Roll on July I can't wait that long to find out what happens and the ending...

LOL... yup, you definatly got my attention with that all right. She isn't though. I think she's just jealous of the whole magic thing because her sister got the gift and she didn't.

if she was then i think that she would have done some magic in the previous episodes.

Lol, nope! I did read that she has something to do with the plot tho, but she's not a squib.
It is interesting that not many Muggles know of the 'Wizarding World', but they really don't talk about the ones that do, like families of witches and wizards who are not purebloods. Maybe that will come into the story a bit more.

I think there is no way that Aunt Petunia could be Voldemort in disguise. The enchantments that dumbledore put on #4 privet drive would basically make it impossible for Voldemort to even set foot inside the house...Gave me a good laugh though, lol.

We all know that, come July 31, the blood protection Harry’s mother bestowed upon him will end. What if Voldemort knows this and chooses that night to try and rid his world of Harry Potter for good? Or will Petunia, the only living relative that shares blood with Harry and loathes his existence, be able to do for him the same thing his mother did?

It seems unlikely, seeing how she doesn’t act remotely like a mother towards him. But, she takes him in, knowing the possible danger it could bring to her own family, and she insists that he stay even when Vernon is ready to kick him out. Granted, she has the claws of he wizarding world on her back when she does all of that, but I believe she would have taken him in regardless.

Petunia always speaks lowly of her sister, Lily, but I think deep down she really did care for her. Harry’s aunt was always upset that her parents paid more attention to Lily, seeing how she was the first in the family to be a witch, and that made Petunia resent Lily. I can’t say that I blame her - I’d be jealous too. But deep down, Lily still was her sister and she still loved her. It’s like ‘my’ mother always says, ‘it’s amazing how easy it is to love somebody, but not like them’. So I think that Petunia loved her sister, but disliked her because clearly she was the favorite of the family, or at least in Petunia’s eyes she was. So out of respect for her dearly departed sister, she willingly takes Harry in out of love, but treats him badly out of dislike.

So, if Voldemort was to attack the Dursleys on the night of July 31, would Petunia give her life up to save Harry in the same way that Lily did?

But why would she do this? Possibly out of respect for Lily, but most likely because this is the only way Harry could defeat the Dark Lord, for the moment, and it would save Dudley and Vernon as well. Petunia is not ignorant of the wizarding world. She knows that Voldemort could kill her family shortly after wiping out Harry, or possibly even before. If Dumbledore explained everything to Petunia in the letter that came with Harry, like he says he did, then Petunia should know exactly what her sister did to save Harry.

JKR said that there was more to Petunia than meets the eye… could this be what she was referring to? Could Petunia make her last stand for her family and (unintentionally) the wizarding world?

Of course, Voldemort will come back since he has Horcruxes still out there, but at least that will be one less that Harry doesn’t have to find. Perhaps Voldemort will use the one that Harry didn’t know of
