Beanie Babies..Can't Live With Them...  | |  ...can't live without them! I have been collecting the little sweethearts since 1995. I have been very selective. They are all in baggies or cribs and all of their tags are protected. Most all of them have NEVER been out of their enclosures, they have not been exposed to any dirt, smoke, or sunlight. For some reason though lately, I have been feeling to set them "free", meaning I want to take them out and set them all over the house so that I can see them everyday. I haven't seen them since I bought my last one in 2002. Should I break them out or not? Speak now or forever hold your peace!

I think it would be fine to take them out. I take mine out every once in a while. It doesn't hurt them or anything!:)

What I have discovered over the years is that I will never let them go, so it's time to LET THE DAWGS OUT!!!LOL | |

| | 4.  claudia413 (2541) | 1 year ago |  Break them out! I have 2 "barrister's cabinets" (four shelves each with glass fronts) that I have full with part of my beanie baby collection. I also have shelves in my home office that are full of beanie babies, and even a HUGE plastic bag full of them. I started to collect them for my granddaughters in 1998, and started collecting for myself in 1999. Beginning in 2000, I limited my buying to just the "bears" for myself. I have many that are exclusives from other countries. A friend of mine in NJ traded some of our other hard-to-find beanies to get these exclusives. Now I'm not even sure I want to continue to keep the ones I have. I stopped collecting in Oct 2005 after a hurricane hit here, and we had to get a new roof, and other minor damage to the house. That took a priority over getting my beanies every month, and I never got back into it. I may donate some to local hospitals and schools, and I'm not sure exactly what to do with the rest of them. I probably have over 1000 total.
