Cash Crate and Treasure Trooper are SCAMS! |
|
I'm sure they're not the only ones either, just the most popular. If you think about what they do it should be obvious to anyone who takes part in the rip off.
Oh I'm not saying they cheat the people who join, of course they wouldn't do that! The scam is perpetrated against the poor advertiser that is offering a nice bonus for people to try their product or service. These are honest businessmen and women who are just trying to make an honest buck and are willing to give in order to receive.
So along comes CC and TT to exploit them, just like Fagin in Oliver Twist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oliver_Twist ). Instead of picking up street orphans to train as pickpockets, they find Internet Surfers and train them instead. They teach them to sign up for theses offers and just before they have to pay, cancel everything and bring the money back to CC and TT so you can keep a share.
Who do you think is making all the MONEY???? Just like Fagin, they have everyone scrambling to get a piece of the ill gotten gains.
What do you think?

31. madmax2crazy (1303) | 3 years ago | I say the advertisers have been screwing us poor comsumers long enough, its only fair we get a chance to finally screw them back!

oldbuddy (5748) | 3 years ago | And just how do you propose we select the right ones to screw? I can't quite see how an advertiser is going to screw anyone unless they participate.

madmax2crazy (1303) | 3 years ago | how many times have you bought a product that was advertised to work but it doesn't, how many times have you done a free trail only to have your credit card charged anyway, how many spam mails stuff your inbox until its ready to vomit? How about all the telemarketers calling to pitch this product or that service? I know I've told Capital One to put me on the DoNotCall list at least 5 times a month, I've also told them to stop sending me emails and even snail mail yet I still recieve them daily and I've never applied for a Capital One so how they get my contact info in the first place?? Some other advertiser sell it to them perhaps?? Anyway if none these things have ever happened to you then you must live a sheltered life. Have you even tried any of the things at treasuretrooper? Most are join and pay $1 trials so the advertiser gets their $1 anywayz and are not being scammed in anyway, they make their buck so what do they care...

Sungolian (239) | 2 years ago | You are totally right madmax. Most of the advertisers themselves are trying to screw the consumers with their bogus products anyways, so what's so "unethical" about canceling a trail offer for a bogus product?

32. wsue1023 (1147) | 3 years ago | I don't like any of these outfits and won't waste my time with them. Your post just convinces me further that they're exactly what I imagined them to be. Thanks for sharing this with the rest of the world! I agree, they do encourage their users to be dishonest. Signing up for something only for an incentive with the plan being all along to cancel just before a deadline isn't ethical.

33. mommycrat (116) | 3 years ago | Well, I don't know about the benefits to the advertiser, but I have been pd by CashCrate. The advertisers know that there are people who will not become paid subscribers to their service, but take that chance that a few will. Besides that, most of the businesses are already rather established (i.e. Blockbuster) and not exactly starving artists.

34. helenfillion (2551) | 3 years ago | I agree in the aspect you shouldn't have to buy something to earn money. I'm a member with both and think I'll probably cancel them They don't make me any money anyways.
On the other foot, these sites that advertise to sell something shouldn't give out trials if they aren't prepared to have people cancel. I also have signed up to some other type of free sites to get paid and it's not worth all the phone calls you get.

35. organiclady35 (6039) | 3 years ago | I have never been a member of Cash Crate but I did join Treasure Trooper for a while. I didnt make much money, just the initial bonus plus the odd survey or whatever. I have had it with these offer sites they are a waste of time completely.
I resigned from Treasure Trooper when I realised that all the offers where stuff that I didnt want or had to pay for.

36. shywolf (3828) | 3 years ago | Of course, you're right, but then a lot of internet programs are like that. The PTS (paid to search) programs are just the same, getting people to search for a cent or less per search, which is ripping off the people who buy ads on the search engines.

37. egfitz62150 (565) | 3 years ago | I have never been a member of either site. I have been on several survey sites, however, which were so disappointing that I try to steer clear of ANY site that requires lots of form-filling and information requests. I invariably end up subscribed to something I can't even remember*seeing,* let alone clicking on!
Some of the survey sites are legit (I have made $14.00 in 1 month!!Whoohoo!!). Unfortunately they all like to say they will pay you money, and after you've spent 30 or 40 minutes filling out the survey, you discover that all you've gotten is a CHANCE to win money. Not a paying proposition in my book.

38. azriel (1989) | 3 years ago | I don't agree with you oldbuddy, I think you're missing the point here. Advertisers give free trials to whoever will join thru CC and TT knowing that only quite a few will continue using their products/services. I know that you are well versed in business, so you ought to know this kind of things. You cannot just say thieving in the same breath as what they are doing, as you cannot exploit anyone if they know what you're doing. And the advertisers are certainly aware of it.
They (CC and TT) do not teach you to try the offers and then back off at the last minute, they let other people know about other websites, their products and services, so as to generate more traffic in those sites. In business, you don't just give all, you lose some too. And if the advertisers feel that they could risk some money by offering free trials, I am quite sure they know what they are doing, otherwise they have no business being in business at all.
Its not much different from handing out flyers and giving discounts and/or freebies to those people who comes in and show them the flyers: they pay the people who gives out the flyers and give discounts/freebies to potential costumer, regardless of the risk.

39. lifeiseasy (1428) | 3 years ago | I myself have never used PTR or PTC sites so I have no knowlegde of them other than what I have heard here in mylot about these types of programs ... But it seems to me its the same principle as free traffic sites ...I never use them either as I don't want a bunch of lookieloos ...I would rather pay for qaulty traffic to my website ...I feel that they are pressuring people to click on your ads or visit your website and for what ...only to drive the cost of advertising up for all of us ... I will stick to the programs I am using and stay away from these types ...

oldbuddy (5748) | 3 years ago | You are mostly correct, but if you can design your own splash pages that load lighting fast with high powered benefits highlighted, you can get some results from traffic exchanges. I list a couple in my Blog that are better than most. It's linked from my profile.
