India - Leader of Information Technolog (IT)?

I don't think India is the leader of IT... at least not yet. It is true that more and more Indians are savvy in IT and getting job in this field, but the explosion of research is still in US, in the silicon valley.

Wow, very high tech discussion. I am not IT Savvy and I do not pay much attention on the IT things, so cannot really tell you who is the IT leader.

i also think India is leading in IT. Most of the IT professional are from India only.Even most It prof in US are from India. Its rea;;y booming here in India.

It's hard to judge the potential of a country when the countrymen say they are the best in a particular sector.So,when I heard India is the leading IT destination,I turned to foreign news channels and websites for information regarding that.I was happy to learn that most countries were viewing as a IT hub for now and future.Personally,I feel we have taken big strides towards bettering our IT industry every passing year and have some brains that can be grouped with the elites.However,to me it seems that many other sectors within india are challanging India's IT to the top rank.Some very rapidly growing industries are Biotechnology(Pharmacy),Steel and the Movie business.I feel these industries might be as important in future as the IT industry for our country though at the moment I have to side with the IT as india's most recognised industry,especially,because of the momentum of outsourcing.

Yes I have heard this too. And I believe it's correct.
They have a lot of intelligent people in India, and they work very hard too.
I also get news about Indian teacher being hired from other countries to teach subjects related to IT.

It does seem like India is the leader in information technology as even many of the computer people here in the states are people from India. They seem to have great knowledge and background of computers and programming and other computer related things. A lot of our computer jobs have gone out to India and the ones here are done by a lot of people from India. There are a lot of Americans that are very good at Information technology as well as I have several friends that do this type of work, including my brother and I would like to learn.

yes its a true.india have very large amount of profesionals in computer.

Well I would like to say that India is the leader in Information technology but my vote would not be counted as I am from India and normally I would support my country.
You should get your opinion from some one who is not biased and I don't qualify for that. It is good to see that most mylotians from other countries agreeing on it.
