Anything excessive is bad. Planning too much takes away the fun and joy of a spontaneous moment. I think i tend to plan too much even in small things like dinner for guests, going out on the weekend or my baby's schedule for the day. It unsettles my mind instead of being happy that everything is well planned out, because then i keep thinking what if things dont go as planned. Does anybody else do that..?

Sometimes over-planning can lead to frustrations or disasters especially when things don't turn out the way you want it.Like the wedding of someone I know. She wanted the wedding to be a grand garden-poolside wedding with all the torches and fireworks to herald the occasion. They spent a fortune hiring a wedding planner and organizer to take care of everything. Everything was almost perfect but a day before the wedding a storm was brewing. Flights were cancelled and the flowers needed to beautify the wedding area might be transported later when the weather got better.

On the day of the wedding the storm seemed to have vanished, flights were rescheduled and the flowers arrived but late. They were still decorating the area even when the guests have already started to arrive. This was because of the delayed arrival of the flowers which were ordered from another city.

The time of the wedding was moved three hours later because of the last-minute work. Had they started early or had they followed the time on the programme, they would have avoided the catastrophe that was to happen. Since it was a garden wedding, everything was in the open. Earlier that day the sun was shining so brightly but when the wedding ceremony started the skies started to grunt and grumble. We looked up to see black clouds forming. Nobody expected it. A typhoon came all of a sudden in the middle of the ceremony in the wide open garden. The typhoon tore everything away and people started fleeing the area. The pastor and the bride and groom who were not quite wed yet did not know what to do. However, the pastor just thought it best to proceed in spite of the raging typhoon. He was wedding them in the midst of one of the strongest typhoons in the country for it was around the Tsunami period that it happened.

That must have been terrible isnt it? Natural disasters cannot be always predicted and certainly not prevented so when you plan so much and things go all wrong, it hurts even more.
