We have lived in this place since Dec........My husband put applications in everywhere here during that time........they said they would not be hiring till Jan or Feb.......Still Jobless, he finally about the middle of Feb found a job in Mckeesport......which he take 2 busses to get there. Now, The Grocery store down the street.....he has a chance to finally get a job there......he is to go tomorrow to find out.......it will be better for him in the long run for there will be no more bus passes we have to buy, But there are a lot of questions....will he make the same as he is now? Will they work with him there like the place that he is working at now...And since he has not been working at this place too long......just about a month.....what will that do to his work history? he is really up in the air about this........What would you do?

Ps, he has got a terrific work history byw.....all the other places he has worked, it has been for years......this will be the shortest if he takes the one down the street.

Oh isn't that the way. We've done the same thing either there's no job or you get three or four offered at the same time. I think before you make a big move your husband should try the job first and find out which one he wants then move later after you know the job will be steady. First get the job then move after. Good Luck thowell to you and your husband.

The only problem with that is they are both grocery stores.....about 15 miles from each other, and he may end up getting fired from both........due to competition. Yes it is the same department and all......and he is learning this one good. and he will do good at both, our problem is it is costing us 20.00 a week in a bus pass that he works 3 maybe 4 days a week at now. he is going to tell the other one...........Make it worth it.......thanks!! Is this a good idea?

Sounds like the grocery store down the street is much better for him than one in another city. I think even if he is making less than he is now that it will save money in the long run by not having to buy bus passes or things like that. I don't think it will hurt his work history at all. I'm pretty sure they'd work with him since he has many years of service at past employers. I'd take the job that is the best opportunity. That will offer you more in the long run. I'd write down how much I'd make at both places then write down how much you save by working at the job down the street and see if it will benefit you enough. Good luck.

That is what he is leaning toward....plus he is also going to tell the store here.....make it worth it to me to quit the job I have since I have asked several times for a job here, and you have turned me down....Thank you

I'd take the job which either pays better or='s more towards the role I prefer.

Of course as a family, the bus trips could be messy and hard for him as he could be late or having to spend more time getting to work on time and things like that.

I'd honestly go for the closer job, although if he can manage the other then he could go for it.

Goodluck,
~Joey=)
