How do you respect "mouth & foot" artists?

By the end of every year I used to receive a thick envelop containing certain amount of christmas cards, new year cards and a calendar, the pictures printed on the cards and the calendar were originally painted with mouth or foot by a group of artists born without hands. The people who receive these cards are asked to pay certain amount of money as specified for the cards. To paint with mouth or foot is really a tough job, yet these unluckily artists, some of them even teens, are willing to earn a hard living with their efforts and accept fate without any grievances. They would always enjoy easy life by receiving charity funds from the public but they strictly refuse it. How do you think about it?

There are indeed handicap people, but they are lucky to have use of the best part of themselves to earn a decent living, we have to treat them as normal beings, like you and me, that way we are helping them boost their self respect and appreciate themselves. If you are reading the bible there is one account where a disciple, while looking at a blind person ask Jesus, why were they born like that, is it because of the fault of their parents or their fault? And Jesus answered, It is neither their fault nor their parents fault that they were born that way, it is to show the power of God. See, if there are awesome attributes like you do see in those people you mentioned above, whom you claim "are willing to earn hard living with their efforts and accept fate without any grievances." That goes to show how powerful God is in their lives.

I found that I still have over forty unresolved discussions so I decided to spare some time to solve them. Now I tend not to procrastinate any more. Hoping that I could finish them very soon. It took me lots of time to read through them and to pick out one to mark as best response. It is quite a tough job to make decision as which one is the best, right? Hi friend, I still got about twenty unresolved discussions yet to be solved. Good thing never be blamed to be late lol

I think that life for them is not easy, but I have to admire them for their being unwilling to give up themselves but strive hard to reach their life aims set by themselves. They deserve our great respect for their great spirit. In China, we have many disabled people who work hard to reach their aim by making much more efforts than us.

It’s true. Life just likes a forever battle. Everyone likes a warrior who has to fight hard for survival. The weaker or the disable ought to strike harder than ordinary people under a more difficult situation. Many of these people are highly respected as they have extremely strong will power to achieve their ambition.

It’s true indeed.happylim. They are not asking for charity or help from the public but they are using their own effort to earn a living. They should be highly respected in this sense.

This is about the only kind of in-the-mail solicitation that I would ever respond to, and then not because the artists are handicapped, but because they are really good artists. My husband taught art for many years and when students who had every advantage would complain that the work was too hard and that he expected too much, he would always think of these artist who work so hard and do so well without whining. So in my home we do respect these artists very much.

Really, their spirit could definitely inspire us as they could use their manual labor to win a tough living instead of simply asking for help from the public. They always set a good example for the young people who do not really try their best to do whatever thing assigned to them. It could make many of the normal and able people to feel ashamed because they could not achieve as what the disables have attained. I appreciate very much your personal view on this matter and the support for the artists.

Yeah, though they are disable persons they never give up and persist to achieve their ambition as professional artists. Finally they could earn their living by their skill. So they should be proud of their ability and perseverance. Thanks for responding and happy posting.

Yeah, they should be proud of themselves as they still could live in independently with their own labor though they are disable people. Actually we have to learn from them as they persist to keep on drawing with either using their foot or mouth. You are most welcome naseefu. Happy posting. Take care.

In fact, they repectable people and their value the pride and honour of their own skill, more than the monetary help. That's why they prefer to earn through their work, rather than receiving charity fund. Besides, working will make them feel that they are still contributing to the society and they are independent. So, we should support them and appreciate their art work. It's very precious piece of work coz it's not easily produced.

I used to receive these cards too, they take a risk sending them without knowing if the person will pay for them I think you should have to order them at least. The work is amazing considering how it's done and the artists deserve every penny they earn, it's not really charity as they are producing a product and selling it.

It may come accros situations where the person who received the cards are not paying for them but I think there are very few of this cases. More over they have already made allowance for it:) Thanks for responding.
