The movie "IT" |
|
I saw this as a kid and recently I bought it on dvd. I'm a huge horror fan and I love Steven kings work, I haven't read a lot of it although most of the movies I have seen.
This is the only movie as a kid really got to me, There hasn't been one since as I find most boring and I was around 6 at the time. I love the movie though! plus tim curry as the wacky serial killing clown/spider (pennywise)
So did you like this film + Is it one of your favourite steven king stories?

My memory of it is rather vague other than the clown's look and I am thinking there was something to do with a sewer drain/runoff dealy. Shudder, I did not like that movie, nope, not one bit. I think I shall have a nightmare tonight, now!

encik_khairul (133) | 3 years ago | i think the first part(when they first encountered the clown) is better. the second part is a disappointment especially when they encountered the spider thing.
i think a better kid/children movie is the goonies by steven spielberg. it's about a group of kid who found a treasure map.

DawGwath (453) | 3 years ago | Sadly the final part with the spider was kinda cheesy but I don't think they could've pulled any better ending for it (just read the book). If you take the movie as a whole, it's a quite horrofing experience (especially for a 10 years old:D). The storyline takes the action in diferent phases which introduces you to the characters, psychologically and physically, the reckless town and it's terrible secret. I really liked how the children become best friends and remain united until the end, despite their differences.

2. willocfc (730) | 3 years ago | I loved the book and have read to many times to count, but have always been disappointed in the movie. Im not much of a fan of books being make into movies though, as inevitably parts must be left out and you always have your own ideas of what the characters look like in your mind and seeing them on screen can be totally different. I must however say that Steven Kings the stand is one movie i did fall in love with

kakemafarm (356) | 3 years ago | I agree about the whole books made into movie thing being very dissapointing! The best way to do it is to watch the movie first and then read the book, that way you get bonus stuff when you read the book. Unfortunately, the book is normally the first to arrive and I, for one, can't wait for the movie and then read the book.

3. comedyaddict (369) | 3 years ago | This is probably the only Stephen King movie/ book I haven't seen or read. I saw about 5 minutes of the movie, but that was about half way through, and it didn't do anything for me.
Might have to go and hire it...

emeraldisle (8978) | 3 years ago | This is one you do have to watch from the beginning. You come into it half way you do lose a lot. If you get the chance rent it and watch it. It's one my favorites even if it scares me:)

comedyaddict (369) | 3 years ago | OK, I will have to check it out... its scored fairly well on IMDB. I just noticed that it is a 3 hour movie, so watching only a few minutes in the middle probably isn't enough. Thanks!

5. bicklelady (473) | 3 years ago | I love to watch Steven King movies. I cant watch them alone. I love his bookIs more. They are so much scarier. I use to work in a hospital for the mental disabled. It was on the third shift and everyone was asleep. I started reading one of his books and I got so spooked. I started hearing noises that was not there. I was even scared to walk down the halls alone. That was the last time I ever read one of his books again.

6. fraser65 (380) | 3 years ago | I do agree, this is one of the better films adapted from a Stephen King novel. Even though the others were just as good, I feel for a tv movie it was pretty graphic. Cheers:)
