Have you been "set up" with someone by a friend? Has it worked? dating

Until now I haven't but may be in future I do it

I was set up once by a really close friend (she set me up with her husband's best friend) anyway..It did not go well.
The guy was not really my type...besides that he was overly
interested..telling me when we first met, how he was in love with me...he ended up being a complete psycho..and actually stalked me.
Needless to say..I don't really trust the whole set up thing anymore.

You know, it hasn't worked out for me very well at all.

I love my best friend, she is one of the sweetest people in my life, but her judgment in the type of girls that fit for me was totally off. In high school she tried to set me up with one of the girls she was going to school with. This girl was actually the cousin of ony of my good friends at my high school. That one really didn't work at all...

we had very little in common, she wasn't easy to talk to, and we found out that after our physical attraction there was little else for us to lean on.

My wife and I met through friends. It wasn't a setup though, because we decided on our own without the help of our mutual friends to begin dating and get together. I think when friends do something like that they mean well, but in the end it really is hit or miss depending on the people involved themselves.
