Sunil Gavaskar was born on 10th July 1949 in Bombay. From his very childhood, he showed potential for cricket, while, playing in his school team. His test career began during Indian Team's tour to West Indies in 1971. He is the only Indian batsman to score highest. He has the ability to defy the law of -averages. He has the courage to be himself, which made him charismatic. He is the arce type opening batsman. He has 17 years international career in Cricket. His historic 1971 defeat to the Caribbean, where he scored 774 runs in just four Tests, marked him out as a batsman destined for greatness. It was a promise realised in full measure.
