Trees without leaves. What are these

First off, how did you get that shamrock to do that/? Are we allowed to use HTML here?? Then we have lots of coniferous trees here. They are pine trees and they keep their leaves all year long. Some trees just don't lose their leaves. Not sure why.

Deciduous trees lose their leaves in winter. They grow back in the spring and I see buds on the trees now in North Carolina. Example is dogwood, oak, maple, etc.).

Evergreen tress keep their leaves year round (or their needles). Example is pine tree and Virginia should have plent of those.

In the tropics you can plant a deciduous tree and it will lose its leaves, but it probably will not survive as it evolved in the temperate zone with seasons. Nothing beats the glorious color of the leaves before they drop in autumn.
