When was the moment you saw your little baby as a big kid?

I don't remember a particular moment, but I'm sure it was along those same lines. The clothes and hairstyle can really make the baby turn into a little girl - especially those first little pigtails. Stay far, far away from polo shirts. Those grew my little girl up like nothing else. She was two and looked more like four to me.:( Isn't it sad how quickly they're not babies any more?

It has happened alot lately with mine. He's two and a half, and really isn't a baby anymore. I think when he got his hair cut at around 18 months, it made him look so grown up, also, when his little brother was born, I realized he was no longer a baby. And when he started potty training and just recently when he tries to settle the baby down when he's crying. It seems like my baby is growing up, at least I have another one who will stay a baby for a while. (this must be why some women have 12 kids..) (:

For me I would have to say when I would we would have another baby a year later, I cannot believe how much older they look its unreal=(

I still see my two year old as a baby. But that's only because he is develpmentally delayed and so he still acts like a baby. But for my daughter it had to be when she started kindergarten!

It seems so long ago with my kids but my granddaughter is living with me. She is 15 months old. When she does certain things she no longer seems like a baby but then she turns around and climbs up into your arms and cuddles. You think, there my little baby is back again. She was a late walker. She has only been walking for about 4 days. This made her seem more grown up.

I'm not sure. I guess it was when they got the long legs and outgrew their little pudginess -- although my daughter kinda always had long legs. I think it was the loss of the poochy belly.

I really noticed a few weeks ago when I went to get him out of his crib. He put down the book he was looking at, stood up and said "hi mommy!" with a big smile on his face. He just looked so much more like a toddler, and less like that little baby that we brought home last year. Awww...

Yes with my children it did give me a surprise when they were around the age of 2 and a half years old and they started saying words that were big and had a lot of meaning to them I don't know exactly where they learnt them from but from that moment onwards I knew that my babies were no longer babies any more and where developing into wonderful children.

that is so strange. For the last four years I keep patting my son on his head and telling him that he should not get any bigger. LOL he does not even listen to me. He is getting bigger all the time. Even though that is sad, I realize as he gets older, we can do more things together. That takes away all the saddness.

When they started school and they were suddenly going off without me there to look over them and keep them safe.:(
