I have met two of my ex boyfriends online. One of them is still my best friend. At the same time though, I've also met some not so nice guys off the net. I don't think that there's a problem with meeting someone off the net. I do think you need to be really, really careful though before meeting them. Exchange e-mails for a few weeks first, if you still like the person start talking on the phone. Try to get to know the person as much as you can through the phone before meeting the person. I don't think using the net is limiting, because you're more likely to meet people that you wouldn't meet otherwise. You can always go about meeting people both ways.

well i met my beloved on the net, but i didnt use dating or match sites. i just was in a chatroom. that was a great luck to be in the same room at the same time, but u know it was destiny. i generaly think that everyway for meeting love is good. although they say that u never know who is the person in net, and u wont find out if u dont try him/her. same as u i live in a town, and i would never find in reality someone like him, so basicly that was the reason i reached to internet in finding someone to talk to, but instead i found someone to love, isnt that just great? :) i wish u all the same.

As a single parent I didn't have time to get out. Between the job and the kids I was not in position to meet many new women.

I did use one of the online dating services and I met a truly wonderful woman. We lived less than 2 miles from each other. We probably never would have met otherwise.

We are now in our third year of being together.

Forget what anyone might say about meeting someone online. Just take it slow and you'll find someone that's right for you.

Yes I have meet people online from match sites, and from other things as well, forums, groups etc. Sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't.

The man I am with now is someone I meet online. We have been together for 5 years.

When a friend of mine heard how we meet she went out got a computer, and meet the man she is with online. He is also from midwest and transferred to east coast since she had a better paying job and a house, he found work here.

They have been together for a couple of years now.

So it is possible, to meet someone online from match sites, it is also possible to meet someone online whom you end up chatting with, either in game room sites, forums, or other formates.
