1. Will you be watching?
2. Do you think Americans Love Her?
3. Do you think her atificial leg will "go flying"?
4. Would you bet on the possibility? She is the most hated woman in Britain — because of her questionable past and muckraking accusations against estranged husband Paul McCartney.
So when Heather Mills waltzes onto our TV screens Monday night as a contestant on "Dancing With the Stars," there is far more at stake than winning a hit reality show.
The disabled former topless model is plotting an ambitious scheme to be "reborn in the U.S.A." and persuade the American public to take her to their hearts."I get nothing but support over here," she says of the United States, where she has a luxury home in the Hamptons. "People want to give me a hug."But media commentators on either side of the Atlantic are divided on whether it will be more like the cold shoulder."There will be a lot of admiration for her as an amputee," says Tia Brown, senior editor of celebrity magazine In Touch, who is nevertheless skeptical that viewers will be interested enough in her story if she doesn't spill the beans on McCartney.
Critics claim she's a phony and it's precisely her arrogance that motivates her to conquer the States."In the first weeks after the divorce announcement, she laughably believed she had more friends than Paul McCartney," explains Ben Todd, editor-in-chief of the U.K.'s Zoo magazine. "She was deluded and resentful of his popularity."But she hasn't learned a lesson. She still thinks she can win America's sympathy."Insiders believe McCartney's trophy wife-turned-toxic-ex, 39, is so sure of herself, she plans to live and work here permanently, just like Victoria (Posh Spice) Beckham, another popular target of the British press.
The move is particularly likely if, as expected, she agrees to drop her bid for sole custody of their 3-year-old daughter, Beatrice, to pocket a rumored $56 million divorce settlement.
TV critic Kevin O'Sullivan, of London's Sunday Mirror, says her compatriots will shout "Good riddance" in her wake."They think America is welcome to her," he adds, "but if the producers of 'Dancing With the Stars' think they've got a good contestant, they've got another thing coming."Apart from the obvious, grotesque freak-show factor of her hobbling around on one leg, she will be absolutely rubbish. ... Now she is cashing in on the fact that, in America, the edges are blurred between fame and notoriety. In Britain, you can't just divorce someone rich and expect to be treated as if you're famous yourself."But McCartney is adored in the U.S., and I'm not sure Americans will be so foolish as to fall for her ploys."For example, she took off her false leg when she was interviewed by CNN's Larry King, brandished two more on her second appearance with him and has already removed the leg for her latest publicity shots
Across the pond, Mills — who has claimed in court papers that McCartney was violent during their marriage — has generated the kind of publicity Anna Nicole Smith might even have found shocking.
A clutch of former friends allege that she was a hooker who sold her body to rich Arabs. First she needs to resist the urge to rant on her Web site, where she typically blames her problems on everyone else."She is relatively lucky because few Americans have read all the salacious and ugly reports about her in England," says New York crisis management guru Howard Rubenstein, who helped endear the U.S. public to the Duchess of York when she fell from grace in Europe. "Heather needs to look for a longer-term engagement than 'Dancing With the Stars' and cool down on criticizing people.
But old habits die hard. "Heather enjoys confrontation," observes Ben Todd. "As long as she is in the spotlight — loved or loathed — she is happy."http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/cgi-bin/PrintStory.pl?document_id=2003620312&zsection_id=2002119662&slug=heathermc16&date=20070316

I am afraid to say that 'Lady Mucca' as she has been dubbed here in the uk has brought her misery upon herself! We can all make mistakes and I have made many of my own, marry the wrong man and realise that the relationship cannot work, we then lick our wounds and carry on - Mills however seemed to think that the couples fame and popularity were down to her, ranted about other peoples faults(never mentioning or acknowledging any of her own!) and turn down a £25 million settlement when they had only been married for a short time! Here she is seen by the majority of people as a money-hungry, bitter and arrogant woman! She is attempting to run away from the problems she has created for herself but I don't believe the American public will accept her until she has accepted herself faults and all and taken a bit of personal responsibility!

First of all this American sees her as a money-grubbing gold-digger that ended up with a wonderful man that was still grieving his beloved wife.Poor guy was ripe for the picking after loosing that exceptional woman. We flipped the news when something about her comes on.
People want to give her a hug?Yes from my friend the grizzly bear!
The American I know HATE her but there are always those that eat up these little trollups. She will be a favorite to watch by those mean enough to wish her flat on her face.Myself...This is all of my time that little female worm is going to get.
Sorry for being mean .

I personally won't be watching it but that's because I just don't get into the show itself. I feel sorry for her as I think she's gotten a bit of a bad wrap, simply because it was a "Beatle" she went for.
LOL.. I cannot believe they're taking bets on whether her leg will fly off or not! LOL How crude!

I agree with most of the post on this one It seems that this maybe was all she could get? I doubt that she has offers pouring in in England that's for sure. Supposedly they were saying on ET tonight Paul sent her flowers for good luck? why do I find that a little hard to believe? I think NOT.
But nonetheless it's all this discussion that is going to make her last on the hsow forever! Ugggh

Not being a fan of either reality shows or Miss Mills, I can honestly say no, I'll not be watching Dancing With the Stars. I barely tolerate American Idol, and dancing contests bore me to tears, so missing this program will not be a major blow to my television habits.
As to whether Americans love her, I don't know either. Certainly most die-hard Beatles/Wings fans don't, seeing as to how ugly Miss Mills' behavior toward her soon-to-be ex-husband has been. I, myself, have not kept too informed about all the accusations - there is, remember, a war on in Iraq and another in Afghanistan - but from what I HAVE read, the woman seems to be a bit, um, greedy and calculating. There is the chance that I could be wrong, but somehow I doubt it. So Paul fans probably don't like Heather much. Some disabled people might feel some sympathy toward her because of her missing leg and her advocacy of some related causess, and maybe quite a few believe her accusations...so there might be some Americans in Heather's camp.
As to that artificial leg flying off? Not likely to happen. If it did, it would be a freak event.

I will be watching the show, but not to see her from everything I read about her she appears to be a gold digger. I could be wrong, but it looks to me she only wanted Paul for his money. I actually don't care for many of the people on this years episode of Dancing with the stars, if nothing better is on the tv I will watch it.

Since I don't live in America, so I am not the suitable person to answer these three questions.
From my personal point of view in judging this thing, I would say no one if perfect and everyone has his (her) good side and bad side. I really respect and appreciate Miss Heather Mills who has courage to take part in this performance and will prove to the world the disable people still can achive their goals.

I can't say I'll be watching, but not because of anything against Mills. I just don't really care for the show period. I'm getting fairly bored with all these reality shows or contests where backwaters celebrities try desperately to revive their careers.
