Fictional characters | | Playing D&D is very enjoyable. I use it as a form of creative expression, a way to escape realty and lifes problems for a short while, and a time for hanging out with good friends. Most of the time we use the same characters for a long while, but sometimes we decide to put our olds ones on hold for a time and start a new one. While some might think that they would be abandoning their old favorite characters, I see it as an opertunity to expound upon the ever growing fictional world that exists whithin my mind. I have a great number of characters that i have poured a part of myself into, and they are all very in depth considering how little I have been able to actually play them. One such character is Og. Og is a Kobold. He is one of the few that have a strong Draconic influence in their appearance. So much so that Og actually has a set of strong wings. His body is covered in patches of sharp barbs and spikes that he inherited from the powerful beast known as a Fang Dragon. When Og was a child, he was taken from his homeland by a band of circus people that used him as a side show. For fifteen years he was paraded out and made to show off his wings and perform tricks. His humiliation was made easier only by the fact that one of his attendants was rather kind to him. She was a young girl who tought him to speak common and reading and writing. On his fifteenth year in the circus, he was freed by a paladin and a sorceror. Indebted to these two, he decided that he would travel with them until his debt could be repaid. He was a quick master of the bow and was adept at finding near perfect vantage points from which to aid his friends. Many others joind their group, but the two who had saved him remain his closest friends. Balgus, the paladin, had gone into a cave that was in an active volcano to save another of their traveling companions. Og came with him to grant his services and aid in any way possible. The two faced off against a powerful fire sperit and only defeated it through luck and skill. Both were battered from the fight, and they found refuge in a chamber that the sperit had been guarding. Inside, they found many treasures, but among them was a remarkable bow. This bow, which was long and marked with symbols of lightning, was called Sylph. Sylph was a magical bow that could fire lightning whenever she was in the service of a Kobald. She could speak to Og and would tell him of dangers that he couldnt sense. A bond has since grown between the two and they are very close. When offered a wish, Og used it to make his friend Sylph stronger, granting her the ability to become a small Blue fairy with white hair and silver butterfly wings. Og still travels with his friends, they are on a quest to thwart the evil Dragon Queen Tiamat. Their travels will take them far and lead them through many dangers, but then again, thats the point.

There is something very satisfying in putting on my costume, taking up my weapons, and chasing a pack of random monsters across the fields and into the woods. Of course, the tavern is always popular too:-)

| babnoba (3) | 3 years ago | I dont think I could ever get into Larping. I have nothing against it, but I dont think I could pull it off. But I do enjoy a good beating with foam covered weapons. We use PVC covered in thick foam padding and duct tape. I was particularly good with the dual swords, and often I oulasted my friends through sheer endurance. So what was one of your characeters?

| | | 2. SpoonProphet (85) | 3 years ago | Jeez ranting about og again fine why dont we add to the party.ill talk about jareth.hes pretty nifty and accidentally rightious. Jareth Ardalis is a hume from the desert regions of this world. though he looks normal from any angle, when you look very close his skin glimmers like the sand and his eyes are enveloped in specks of brass. (hinting at a mystical ancestry)His father was an important man in the kingdom as far as jareth knew but his bloodline was too taboo for most. His father having demonic ancestors and His mother having blood of bronze dragons, he is always in conflict with his past. When he was an infant his father found out about the conflict of bloodlines and learned of Jareths magical nature (sorcery) Jareths father tried to drown him in a bathing pool. His mother stopped the horrific event but did not prevent the malice jareths father held for him. At about the age of 9 Jareth decided to leave his horrifically evil seeming father and find his own path. He trecked for months across rough desert nearly dying when a band of gypsies found him a few miles from an oasis. they took him as a fellow traveler for nearly three years. One night while laying in camp the caravan was attacked by a sand wyrm and to the Jareth and the gypsies surprise a magical wonder escaped from Jareths fingers and ensnared the Wyrm in some sort of binding. It was out of pure fear that this Second spell leaves Jareths body and instinct saved him from death. The Gypsies after realizing Jareths talent decided there was a better and safer place for him to hone his skills, The Crystal Conclave. A cave of Pure crystal lost in the desert inhabited by scholars and mystics of ancient times. thier knowledge surpassed by only the gods themselves. Here he spent nearly 20 years with the scholars learning to control what power he had and finding out about the ancient terrors that had plagued the world and were soon to come again. He read every book available and took it upon himself to make sure the scholars legacy lived on through him and his forebearers. but his destiny was a different one. One day a paladin of Platinum armor visited the conclave seeking knowledge about an ancient evil. he bore a sheild of four elements meant to lock the nine hells. Jareth just curious introduced himself and before he knew it was sent to aid this Paladin in whatever danger he would come upon. He was meant to be a desert guide seeing as he spent so many years traveling them. The first danger was a slave caravanthat had passed them in the desert. not meaning to get involved Jareth got sucked into the fight by the paladin who showed great valor and courage in an assault against several other men. when the battle was over he had been recognized by one of the slaves as the son of Baref Ardalis. not knowing what to make of it Jareth began denying his ancestry. He learned that the man was his fathers couselor of War. Not only that but that his father was a prince of a tiny kingdom and he was the heir to a country of slaves. slaves he then vowed to free. He had learned his father was dead but his mother may still be alive so the paladin agreed to help on his journey along with a short scaly beast named Og. After several encounters with demons Jareth had taken a vow to serve Bahamut (the good dragon God) if he had given him the strength the free his ppeople from slavery. he had alsdo taken a Vow of Poverty to ensure his kingdom is fully restored and his people could live healthily and happily. Well thats the back story of the Sorcerer/Priest of Bahamut and how he met Og. There are still several adventures to come though and it takes way too much time to type most of them here.

| babnoba (3) | 3 years ago | Yes, Jareth is one of Ogs favored companions and endebted to the two travelers. But enough about our interwoven characters. Let discuss some that havnt been mentioned, some that have yet to find there home among a game. When next I post, I will go into the schpeal about Babnoba Lunin, the character whose name was forged from chaos(it was literally a randomly generated jumble of letters.)
