Lynyrd Skynyrd Racist?  

I agree with you.. Skynyrd is in no way racist. If they were they would not have a guy from Black Foot in their band. The Rebel flag is part of their heritage and does not make them racist. It makes them proud southerners! I personally have only been to two concerts, but have seen many people there of races other than white.

Watch the videos by Van Zant. They have black people in the videos and a black choir in Get Right With the Man.
I have known Artimus Pyle personally since 1984 and can tell you he is not at all racist.
I wish the ignorants would stop crying about the Confederate flag symbolizing racism, if they only knew how much better this country would be if the Confederacy had won. The Civil war had very little to do with slavery, it was all about abolishing central government, which was was the Revolutionary War was fought against. And now, the U.S. has become the very thing that our founding fathers fought to be free from. I will make a discussion on this subject later. But now I digress, Lynyrd Skynyrd is not, and has no ties to any form of racism. All I ever hear them talk about is love everybody and be good to your fellow man.

Every time people say "Southern Heritage" they refer to the history of the post civil war time. The confederate flag represents that time when the people from the south risen up against the government to fight to keep their traditions (slavery). They take pride in fighting against the government but what they don't realize is at the same time that fight was for oppressing others. Waving the confederate flag only means you wish the south had won.
Yes the conferderate flag is for the S. Carolina but it will always have a negative image of war, oppression, and symbol of racism. The flag represents the Confederate army that was defeated it should have died after the war just like what it stood for.
