i think that Jackie Kennedy Onassis will remain the most famous first lady for her tragic history and for the love story with Onassis... Maybe we will remember Hillary Clinton for being the first female president of the USA and Bill Clinton will be the First Husband :)

Barbara Bush didn't really garner a lot of attention while her husband was in office. I think it's a 3 way tie between the others.

I'd have to say Eleanor Roosevelt. She was her husband's legs during his battle with polio. She broke a lot of new ground for women. Prior to her time first ladies pretty much stayed behind the scenes and out of the public eye. Eleanor gave speeches, traveled a lot, and was more her husband's partner than his wife. Other first ladies who did good things for the times they lived in were Dolley Madison, Sarah Polk, and Edith Wilson of the older ones. Of the ladies you mentioned, Hillary Clinton was the most active and influential politically. Jackie Onassis, of course, was a trendsetter. Nancy Reagan had her own little projects, but mostly her job was taking care of Ronnie. And Barbara Bush was just plain funny. I think she's the heart of the entire Bush clan. How could she have had a son like GW?
