My One Guilty Splurge: Volvo C70  

I've never been the kind of female who went ga-ga over cars. I always said that I wanted a car that would get me from point A to point B. My dream car at the time was a simple pick up truck. Flash wasn't in my budget.

One day while looking through my favorite woman's magazine, I came across an ad for the Volvo C70 convertible. The page turning stopped.

The Volvo C70 was the first car to make me want to go out and drive. I come from a family of people who love to drive and behind this beautiful piece of machinery I would drive until the engine collapsed.

I don't know anything about the engine. I don't know any thing about the gas per mile. I know that I like that I can have a convertible with a retractable hard top. I liked versatility. I like the safety options. I like the way I will look driving this baby away in the sunset.

But the $40,0000 price tag is a reality check.

So I made a challenge with myself. I want to write and sell books I have written online. I have to write, package and market my books. If I can sell enough copies of one book to cover the cost of a used Volvo C70, I will buy one for myself. My sweet beautiful little piece of heaven. I will give in to my one well earned guilty pleasure.

This won't be an easy challenge. I will have to write, break out of my comfort zone and focus on getting my material completed and on the market.

When I complete this challenge I am going to pack my husband, two of our friends and hit the road for a cross-country drive to California and spend a weekend on the beach.

I still plan to get my little red pick up truck for day to day driving. But my C70 a special treat to drive on special occassions and on trips.
