What do you think of Salvador Dali?  |

|  Recently I was at the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersberg, Florida and My husband and I enjoyed the museum very much. I particularely enjoy his paintings from the surreal period, especially the ones with double meaning like:
1: Slave Master
2: Hallucinogenic Toreador
I wasn't to impressed with his sketches.
What do you think of Salvadore Dali? What is your favorite piece of work and how do you feel about it.

| |  Dali is one of my favorites. I haven't been to the museum in Florida but there is another one in Paris that I have been to and it was great. I love his creativity and his sense of humor. A very unique individual.

didn't he fall in love with somebody and mail her his ear or something?
maybe that was Van Gogh, interesting troubled artists anyway
some serious depth of feeling those guys had
thats why the art is so nice
They should just lighten up and get real I think.
Less drama, better lives that way.

| | I like his surreal period. There is one he did of Abraham Lincoln which is made up of tiny pictures and if you look close in Lincoln's eye you can see a nude woman. I also like his 'Time' one. I forgot the exact title. | | | | | | |

| | I absolutely love 'The Persistance of Memory' and 'Temptation of St Anthony' but I must say my favourite is probably 'Swans Reflecting Elephants'.
There is just so much to see. The more I look at it the more I can see. You have to be slightly disturbed to be able to create that and put in that much detail.

| |  Dali is my favourite artist of all time. I have several books that have many of his pictures. I love to look at them as there is so much to see, and something different pops up in them each time. My daughter just bought me one to copy for my wall but I haven't started yet, it would mean having to come off mylot for some time haha!! It's definitely surreal for me even though it's not every bodies 'cup of tea'!!!

| |  I was there, and it is a great museum. I enjoy him, but have no favoirtes. He is a bit off the edge, but hey, all of artist are. I'm glad you enjoy his work, it is very unique and different.

| |  I also enjoy Salvador's sureal work. My fav's are "dream cause by the flight of a bumble round a pommegranate one second before awakening" and "The Temptation of St. Anthony"
If you like Dali you may want to check out some M.C Escher.
