does the ignorance of some religous people annoy you?  

There are a lot of beliefs on here that I disagree with. Instead of allowing myself to get fed up, I just don't bother to reply to them. It's possible that the guy meant that the Buddist god was better because he took the guy to his heaven sooner as a reward for converting. Who knows what people on myLot are thinking? I have really read some strange ones on here.

I am trying to swear off on religious discussions because there are so many judgmental people out there that don't know what they're talking about. But, I am having a little bit of a hard time. So, I'm just gonna ignore them instead.

I don't even bother responding to posts like that. When it comes to discussions on religion I will just post my basic opinion. I never state my opinion as being fact. There are way too many religions out there for 1 person to sit and say I'm right and everyone else who doesn't think like me is wrong. That's the problem I see with a lot of very religious people. They just aren't willing to at least acknowledge that other people think differently from them and that it's ok.

Not to be disrespectful but people these days treat religion like their favorite football team. "My team is best. Yours sucks" It's pretty childish. I suppose I can see where Buddhism would get certain religions' panties in a bunch as it promotes inner peace and enlightenment with the Buddha as a guide rather than "This miracle happened! Worship this god or he will smite you!" This is why I'm spiritual rather than religious. Though I do believe a lot of the teachings from several religions including Christianity I believe that religion separates people more than it brings them together in the longrun. Before anybody flames me and or tells me I'm going to hell, keep in mind I respect other peoples spiritual and religious choices and don't think they are wrong for choosing to worship in a more organized way. It's just not for me!

Some people just refuse to believe that other religions exist and do good in the lives of others. They want to continue living in their own little bubble believing (or following blindly?) what their god teaches them because they are too ignorant (afraid?) to believe that other religions exist and can all lead them to god.

I think there are a lot of people that go out there and read one or two chapters of the bible and then think they are an expert.

The other major problem with some religious people is they use the scripture in a way that makes them feel better about their point of view instead of letting the scripture change them internally like it is suppose to.

Even though I am a very dedicated Christian I still believe that no matter what religion you follow either way their is only 1 God that everyone is still praying to no matter what name they give Him.

Ignorance, in all it's many forms annoys me, whether it comes from someone presenting a religious argument, or someone presenting a secular one.
No, Buddha wasn't a god (at least, not in how we define the term "god" generally speaking), and he never claimed to be. Buddhism, however, IS a religion (I state this only because you seem to think that it is ONLY a philosphy). Buddhism does have a philosphy, it also has a spiritual side to it. A religion does not need a god to worship in order to be counted as a religion. If there is any spiritual belief system, it is a religion. Atheism is a religion in that the spiritual belief is that there is no supernatural (at least, for a majority of atheists I know. There are other "denominations", if you will, of atheism that would believe something that is counted as supernatural, and just believing in no god/creator/etc.).
The person you're referring to probably meant to say "that shows you which belief is more accurate." I would say s/he was still wrong in their assertion that one person's death makes a certain religion more or less correct than another, but that is just my own opinion.

it is sad to see that they are scared of god..i mean believe is supposed to be so personal and to give you so much pleasure and satisfaction
so what is goin on here? did her really thing that god has punished that person....don't we eventually have the same god? and we see him from different aspects?

There will never be a right answer and a wrong answer, as everyone holds to their own belief system. What upsets me is the total lack of tolerance and understanding between the adherants of the main religions, after all we are all living on this planet, do you think we could actually make an effort to get along.

yes sometimes listening to some extremists and how they fell really frustrates me ....coz they r really insne....man shud be a average personality and dont become a extremist personaliity....it imparts a bad image of urs on the others.....this is not liked by anyone....
