Eensy weensy spider went up the water spout...
Along came the rain and washed the spider out
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain...
And the eensy weensy spider went up the pipe again..

I guess you all know the song about the little spider... I don't know if I wrote it down right, but you get the picture.

Ok, the song is really cute and it doesn' give anyone the creeps. Now spiders make me go AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Especially the big ones.

I have a hypothetical question: If you see a spider web with a spider in it just making herself at home waiting for her meal to fly into the web.. what do you do?

Do you get a broom and sweep it down? Do you leave it alone. It is sort of the bird story, but this time it is a less cute creature... the spider!

If it isn't in my way I will leave it... but if it is in my direct line of passage I will sweep it down. I don't like spiders. I don't mind Granddaddys. I can handle them and move them. They don't use webs.

I've seen some big fearsome looking spiders... some are very colorful and beautiful, yet scary all the same. What would you do? Sweep it away or leave it?

I would grab my camera and try to get a picture, of the web. My granddaughter and I have a common interest we love to look at spider webs, they are masters of weaving, so very delicate and yet will hold quite a large catch. we used to catch some spiders and they were called money spiders, we would shake our hands very gently and the spider would fall of but it spun a string as it went down, as soon as it almost hit the ground we would capture it again and repeat the process, the more times you could make the spider spin to the ground the richer you would be. I obviously was never good at this. Poor little spiders. all that work for some kid.A spider web with rain drops clinging to it is like looking at an exquisitely worked necklace. I live them

That is awesome Robin! I don't think I could hardly get past the AAAAAHHHHHHH! factor. I would like to get over my fear of them. I know I am a lot bigger than they are... and they are probably more scared of me than I am of them.

I tend to leave it alone too unless it is in my way as well. I know some people who went to bed and woke up with a swollen I from the bite of a spider though.

I remember living in an apartment that was infested. They would get into my bed at night and bite me! They would get into the bath tub all the time. I think they lived in the drain! Great big black hairy spiders! AAAAhHHHHHHH!!!! I once woke up with one on my pillow! I had it exterminated but the spiders never left. I ended up leaving there.

When they get into the house here, my daughter gently sweeps them out of the house with the broom. She won't kill them. I think she is afraid they will come back and haunt her! Heeee.
