I have moved several times & it is never a fun experience. First off, things that you HAVE TO HAVE (like meds, shampoo, hairbrush, tooth brush, change of clothers) put all that in a bag & put it in the front of your car. Then start in the least used room & pack it first. Pack the boxes so that heavy things are on the bottom & lightweight things are on the top. Make sure that you label the outside of the boxes what room it goes in & what the main contents of the box is. Go from room to room doing this. I suggest that you leave the kitchen until last since it is usually the most difficult to pack. Mark any boxes that have glass or breakables on the outside of the box as such. If you can, put the boxes on the truck with the ones that go to the back of the house in the front (so they can come off first) that way you aren't tripping over boxes on your way through the house. Once you get to your new home, unpack in reverse order, unpack the kitchen first & then move room to room until you get everything unpacked. Good luck to you!

Start the packing process weeks ahead of when you'll be moving. Remember, when packing, organization is key! I hope it will help you on your moving..

Step One
Set aside items you will need up until the last moment, such as cleaning supplies, children's toys, bedding and pet food.

Step Two
Set aside and plan how you will transport items that can't easily be packed. These include plants and pets.

Step Three
Figure out what supplies you'll need, such as boxes, tape, marking pens and cushioning material such as bubble wrap.

Step Four
Repack items such as computers, TVs and other electronics in their original boxes with their original packing material, if possible.

Step Five
Label boxes on more than one side, including both the box's contents and the room in which it belongs.

Step Six
Pack fragile items carefully.

Step Seven
Pack books in small boxes; they're heavier than you'd think!

Step Eight
Roll up carpets and rugs and tie them securely.

Step Nine
Pack bedding last; use as much as you can for cushioning.

Step Ten
Check the basement, the garage, the attic and outdoors for items you might have overlooked.

Step Eleven
Store, sell or donate anything you aren't taking with you.
