My baby Fell 2 days in a row! |
| |
| I have a 4month old daughter and starting yesterday she has fallen off the bed and today she fell off the sofa. I do not have carpet, actually, I have cement floors! Of course, I looked her over to see if she had any bruises or if it seemed liked anything was broken and, all seemed well. She cried for a few minutes and after that was back to her normal self-smiling and playing. Some professional advice for this situation says that you should only take your baby to the E-room only if your baby is showing signs of internal bleeding or if your baby is acting strange. I really felt bad for what happened and even worse that I hadn't done enough to make sure she was fine. Has this happened to you? What did you do? | | | | | |

| | i think cement floors are going to be really painful for her to fall on. i think you should look into these floor tiles for kids. the ones that look like puzzles and place them on the floors. it's sometimes cheaper than carpet. you can find them at wal mart or other stores in the toy ile or the sports ile. is she seems ok then i don't think you need to talk her in just try to prevent it from happening again. if you have to leave her for a sec put her on the floor instead of leaving her on the couch or bed. | | | | | | |

| | I would like to put her on the floor but i'm scared she would fall over and still hit her head. I live in a tiny space, like an efficientcy(? spelling) and I really don't have safe places to put her. Do you know how much the puzzle pieces cost at walmart and how much you get? this sounds like a good idea. | | | |

| | i can't remember how much they cost. but if you are afraid of putting her on the floor, isn't it safer than falling off a couch, it will be a shorter fall. how about putting some blankets under her. that would be a cheaper way of keeping her safe. | | | |

| | If you can't afford carpet or those puzzle tiles you could get a couple of small rugs to lay or on, or just cover the floor with a couple layers of blankets. I would not put her anywhere she can fall off again. | | | |

| | you are better off leaving your child on the floor, that way they can't roll off anything. by about 4 months of age, sometimes earlier you baby will roll. you baby should also not be in a bed without rails. if you are with the baby then that is ok. just don't make it a habit, as you don't want you baby to end up w/ brain injuries. if you baby stops crying then you have major concerns. crying is a good thing if they hurt themselves as you can tell that something is wrong. when they stop crying that is when you should be concerned. i've dropped my bubs once. i was burping her on my knee she when to vomit, but coughed at the same time, and i just lost my balance and she fell. not far, 20cm but she hit her forehead. i felt really back because of it, but i looked over her. and she's old. just a little red spot. i was with her when it happened. i don't know what would have happened if i wasn't there. | | | | | | |

| | She co-sleeps with us and she was laying in bedplaying. We always push her pack-n-play up beside the bed and put cloths in it to give it some weight so she can't push it. I also always put a body pillow beside her just to be sure but, my husband forgot to. We found out that the siding of the pack-n-play which is made of mesh still shifts from side to side while the legs of the pack-n-play don't move at all. We're guesing she slid down the side when it shifted. I was actually on MyLot and so into it that I didn't even hear her crying...My husband found her kinda under the pack-n-play! I was terrified! | | | |

| | Sweetie your little one is getting to the age where she will be more mobile. It's very important to be sure you have something in front of her so she can not fall again. You've been lucky that she hasn't been badly injured but you don't want this to happen again. As my kids were learning to walk they fell down but never off a bed or sofa. | | | | | | |

| | I understand this. I'm just amazed at how fast accidents happen! The second accident I was right in front of her. I was actually lifting a heavy duffle bag off of a chair. I had to lift it over ny head, and soon as I put it down she was on the floor! | | | |

| | Not to be rude or mean or anything but what is she doing on the bed and the sofa by herself??? You should never leave a baby unsupervised in a place where they can easily fall. Just keep her on the floor if you cannot be near her. Place a warm fluffy blanket down and put a toy by her. | | | | | | |

| | We co-sleep so she was in the bed playing until she fell asleep. I will try the blanket until I can find another alternative. | | | |

| | Maybe you should put on the floor or the playpen if you have one. She is probably learning to roll over. At least she is ok. I have always put my daughter on the floor when she was at that age. Good luck with your daughter. | | | | | | |

| | Thank you. I have a pack-n-play that was given to me. It's a 4-in-1 we used it as a bed until we decided to co-sleep with her. We have a very small space and can only keep it in our bedroom. I'm always in the front so I don't use that way because I can't see her. | | | |

| | Perhaps you might consider having a special room for your little girl.that is well padded since she is having such falling problems? Sometimes, I have heard, if a baby has inner ear infections..they will fall often..as this sets one off balance;)+ | | | | | | |

| | I have never heard of that. Where did you get that information? I'm sure she doesn't have an ear infection but, it is good info to have just in case. Unfortunately our space is limited so I can't make her a special place. Someone offered a possibly good idea. They said walmart has padded puzzle flooring that I could put down and keep her there. | | | |

| | My daughter fell off the sofa once and I got so scared that I took her to her the e-room. They told me that she was fine, but you never know. But my sister in laws little boy feel down the stairs, he went from head to toe. when we got to the e-room, she was still crying. When I went back to go see him, he was sleeping and in one of those neck things. They did a lot of test and found out that he was fine. Nothing happen to him, only rug burn. We were all thinking that he might of got a spine injury, since he was so small. So he left that night, and the next day he was his old self. | | | | | | |

| | You mus really learn to look after your baby properly and make special arrangements. The circumstances are yours, as are the concrete floors, wake up before it is too late. babies need special care. | | | | | | |

| | I know that babies need special care. Things do happen that are sometimes out of our control even if we do the best we can with what we have. Please do not judge me. Thanks. | | | |
